What ascendancy do y'all POE'ers think you're starting as on Friday? I thought for sure I was going to play Acolyte of Chayula (aka chaos monk aka CHONK), but Blood Mage is looking quite spicy. I think it may have flipped me.

I THINK I'm going Blood Mage, but I'm also re- and over-thinking and it'll probably be a game time decisions. I ultimately want to play almost everything and really go in blind (other than this ascendancy info), so I may adapt and reroll based on drops and what I learn.

I am so **** excited.

Blood Mage, Pathfinder, Chronomancer are my first 3. Unsure of order.

Maybe if his name was Denise instead of Dennis.

I started to second guess Blood Mage. I definitely believe it will be a strong ascendancy, but the first points funneling through the life cost for spells node makes me think that the ascendancy could take a while to come online, which in turn might make a first play through tough.

I'm now considering Blood Mage still (probably cold), Warbringer (I love totems, and EQ looks to synergize well), Stormweaver (mana stacking, maybe arc), Witch Hunter (to play everyone's crossbow builds), and either monk. So yeah, I've moved backwards

Maybe you folks can help me out. Is the PoE 2 Early Access Starter Pack what I need to buy? I thought it was FTP and the release date was today but :dontknow:

Early access starts today, that is correct. Early access was reserved for longer-time players with X dollar spend, or through one of the new supporter packs (like the $30 pack which is just a key, or any of the others that have a key + MTX).

If you'd just like to try it out FTP, you need to wait for actual release.

ETA: Even if you decide to get a key to play during EA, I'd recommend waiting until Monday or until one of us tells you the servers stabilize. They're (expectedly) a mess right now.

Are there any build guides out there already? I can’t imagine there are.

Not sure I want to just wing it.

FYI - login queues are gone.

Not really - just some theorycrafting. They purposefully didn't release a lot of the info so that everyone had to go in blind. When D4 released everything was pretty much figured out immediately with a bunch of build guides dropping at launch and they wanted to prevent that. Worth holding off a week.

Warrior was pretty rough. Liked the general feel of it - super cool skills - but I think the main hitch for me was that the skills were so slow and deliberate, which didn't match how the bosses are now designed. 3.5 seconds for a hit to go 'off' just didn't feel right. I think some tuning is needed there.

Rerolled to sorc and I am absolutely cruising now with spark (which is now like spark/lightning tendies), OOS, and ice nova. I also decided to try out the other control options to take advantage of move-while-casting. WASD was tough to get used to and I didn't like not having my skills on those keys, but holy ****, controller feels wonderful. And targeting/casting while moving felt like I gained five levels. Highly recommend anyone playing standard M&K to try out WASD or a controller if you are playing caster or archer.

Also, servers are totally stable now.

Monk is incredibly fun. My basic attacks build up stun quite fast which is helpful for a noob like myself.

I started a mercenary, probably only level 7 but not sure about this one. Using the grenades as my main source of damage but it's delayed damage.

Might just try other classes to see how they feel.
