Just remember, RJ scored 39 today and was +12, Gradey scored 15 and was +18

Gradey seems to be the most impactful player thus far even without the gaudy counting stats.

If you watch isolating on Gradey, he is running all over the place with purpose. And other teams are mugging him and up on him like they were on Caitlin Clarke in the ASG...lol.

But what that has done is really open up the middle of the floor for RJ and Yak to operate with less bodies around them.

Attention/gravity. Even if he isn't shooting, he's moving a defender, he's forcing others to pay attention to where he's going. You have to respect him from 3. You can't close out too hard, or he'll southbound on you. He's not going to lead the league in scoring, but he's doing good things for us, and it's awesome. If he doesn't overshoot, even on an off night, he has offensive value.

his off ball movement has been so good. As he continues to build his strength and conditioning it'll get even better!

Let them. Even if he isn't shooting well, if he's occupying the D that much, he's doing the team a favor. I love it. Movement shooters are nasty that way.

Hopefully we can use that gravity on offense to open up looks for everyone else too.

That is indeed the hope.

I have this vain little thought that if we can get enough shooting and on-ball creation, we can focus Scottie on better, higher-efficiency sets for most of his FGA and then he's basically done for us, barring any development as a shooter. It's also why, as much as I was initially resistant to Barrett, I've been on the "c'mon, don't suck!" train with RJ this season. And someone like Gradey is essentially the perfect addition to help open things up for others. Now we need someone who is solid with on-ball creation and playmaking. Quick isn't really it, but he's something, especially once Scottie is back. We could be a pretty competent team with that sort of layout, especially if RJ can be even just league-average in his efficiency.

We need another creator and elite multi position defender.

Sounds exactly like Flagg

Flagg, realizing his potential, would be outstanding, yes.

I miss watching this dude play. Hope he's back soon.

We haven't really gotten to see this season's unlocked, confident Gradey playing with a healthy, confident Scottie we've been seeing the last handful of games.

Their games theoretically should be match-made in heaven, really wanna see it come together. Loved those Gradey/Scottie/Olynyk minutes post deadline last season.

This guy, with a better handle and more experience looks like he could be deadly as a scorer.

Runs on 100% confidence at all times. Completely unrepentant gunner in a good way. He's going to get more consistent, probably hit more of those open threes and I agree he's going to be a great scorer.

Klay Thompson like?

Could he be a 20ppg guy?

He's at 18 now with a fairly limited handle and inconsistent shooting. Any kind of improvement will get him to 20 pretty easily I think. The question is how good will get as a scorer beyond that.

I think he very clearly has the most scoring potential in the organization. His upside is a huge factor why I am pretty positive about our longterm upside.

These 18 ppg are somewhat inflated tho, because there was no Scottie/IQ, and RJ and Gradey got to chuck.

I’d like to see some games with a fully healthy lineup before we decide to fully tank post ASG.

25 PPG scorer in 2 years. Question will be if he can become a decent defender.

I think he has all the tools to be a plus defender (Great size at position, good agility, high bb iq), and the factors currently making him a bad defender are some of the easiest things to gain (Physical Strength, Experience).

There's only 2 prospects in this coming draft I would prefer to have over Gradey. Cooper and Harper, that's it.
