Condolences, ORL fans that’s a rough break.

On the plus side Wagner did not disappoint in the spotlight and the future looks bright.

Injuries suck.

Well this sucks, he was basically a lock to make the all star team this year, hopefully someone stepd up because we desperately need a playmaker.

God has sense of humor :)
First of all its a freak injury but maybe we are actually lucky that its not worse.
Front office should really think about their moves becouse they put too much burden on two young guys.
Its understandable Paolo wanted a point guard to help run the offense.
Two 6'10 guys almost breaking records on drives per game while being hacked by opposing teams ? What can go wrong ?
We can play that way in the playoffs but in regular season ? Thats suicide looking at number of games we are playing.
I think now we need to see what we have in Jett. He is the only one with enough talent. Maybe make McClung active.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

It would be wild for Jalen to start putting up allstar numbers.

Bright side thought: F-Wagner got better playing without Banchero. Now Banchero can get better playing without F-Wagner.

Then come playoff time: the team will be better becasue the two stars are better.

Now: how odes Orlando fix the streaky shooting of Suggs and Caldwell-Pope. And no, I don't want them taking turns at the doctor's office.

This injury perfectly aligns with Orlando's annual losing streak. Looks like god has spoken.

Rotation handling will be hell. To this date this will be hardest task in front of Mosley.

What now?

The whole point is that two guys shouldn’t carry an offense entirely. They should have spread out that task amongst multiple players by acquiring a point guard or just anyone off the bench that isn’t 1-2 seasons in the league. This is on the front office whether people want to admit it or not.

Prepare to suck for the next few months now.

This is ridiculous analysis... because if the Celtics lost Tatum and Brown, or the Mavs lost Luka and Kyrie those teams would be in similar position as us. No team survives without their Star 1-2 combo out of the lineup.

I could imagine you being upset with the 90s Bulls management because if Jordan and Pippen got hurt at once or the 00s Lakers management with Kobe and Shaq getting hurt at the same time, saying they couldn't build a team properly

It's just bad luck that both players who don't really have any real injury history both got hit at the same time.

No our roster overall was built for defense and those other teams have guys who could step in to have big nights to at least have a passable offense if they lost those guys. Our offense is not comparable to Boston or Dallas.

Our offense is 29th, with Franz breaking out.

Our team has overinvested on the defensive side of the ball for years and we are now probably going to see the true diminishing returns that comes from doing that.

We are probably about to see the beginning of the Mac McClung era.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

So who would you guys elevate to the starting lineup? I think I'd go 3 guards and put AB in (even if he's been very meh lately). Tristan makes more sense positionally but we need the playmaking and AB probably has more developmental upside from the extra reps.

Was thinking the same. AB playmakes for 2 spot up shooters in Suggs and KCP while Goga is a threat inside and dell either steps out to shoot the 3 or makes the cut.

But in all likelihood Mose will go for the safe bet and just replace Franz with TDS.

I've been simulating it in my head, and I think this is what I WOULD do (not that I expect to actually see it)

g: Suggs - Cole
g: KCP - Jett? Maybe Gary when he's back and if he can actually contribute.
f: Black - Tristan
f: Moe - JI
c: Goga - Wendell

Obviously it's not a 1:1 starter:backup thing, players would shift positions throughout the game, especially AB back to the backcourt and Dell playing both big positions.

^ True, but we need to find some kind of offense somewhere  I'm just thinking getting Moe Wagner in there is our best chance. I know, grasping at straws here. And there's a first time for everything.
