He was once coached by Andy Reid when he was a tackle at UTEP.

Re: Badgers Football - Targeting Kansas OC Jeff Grimes
I used to like watching Kansas football, and then I didn't this year. Hope it works out, but that's all I got.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Kansas fans don’t seem to upset about him leaving.

Seems like the OL like the new hire. Not sure it's an accident in the last 24 hours both Mahlman & Renfro announce their plans to return next season

Re: Badgers Football - Targeting Kansas OC Jeff Grimes
So with Portal season starting up, I'll be curious at what positions they add to. I don't think they need to add as much through the portal as they did in previous years
QB- Definitely need to add a stopgap starting QB
RB- I think you're fine here with
Dupree/YAC/Acker/Jones but maybe another body just for depth with only 5 RBs in the room
WR- Again I think you're mostly fine here with Pauling in the slot Anthony starting outside and then one of CJ Williams/Joseph Griffin/Chris Brooks at the other outside spot. Only two young guys though in Berry-Johnson & Hilton so maybe add a developmental piece
TE- I think you need a stopgap TE, I like some of their younger pieces but nobody I'm confident in starting next year
OL- I think they are set here. 3 starters returning(Brunner, Renfro, Mahlman). I think Heywood probably takes over at LT & Benzschawel at RG. They've brought in 10 guys the last two recruiting classes and have guys like Barrett Nelson & Leyton Nelson for depth
DL- Need multiple guys here. Hills graduated and then losing JTJ & Neal to the Portal hurts. Barten is JAG, Dillan Johnson might be ready for more snaps but that's about it. They need atleast 2 bodies at minimum here for next season.
Edge- probably looking for atleast 1 guy to come in right away. Darryl Peterson is back but is meh, I like the young guys they've brought in but I don't think you want to go into next season counting on them as starters yet
MLB- Alliegro & Curtis are your starters. Then you have Gauthier, Posa, Catalano as depth. I think you're fine here unless you can find a difference maker.
CB- A lot depends on Hallman. Xavier Lucas is starting outside, Lofy probably in the slot. If Hallman is back then you have your starting trio and can work in young guys as depth. If Hallman leaves then you need a stopgap starter
S- A lot depends on Preston Zachman(Wisconsin's highest rated defender last season per PFF). Austin Brown is probably starting at one spot. If Zachman is back he takes the other spot and if not you need to find a stop gap opposite Brown.
Overall there is no position I would totally refuse to add to if you can land a difference maker there but I mostly think RB, WR, OL, & ILB are set, with CB & S possibly joining that group depending on Hallman & Zachman. They need guys though at QB, TE, DL, & Edge for sure.

RB is interesting because we should begin to see the higher end talent theory start to turn into something at this position first...but Dupree looked OK. Yac is solid. Are some of these younger names going to start showing up as high-end possibilities? We're going to go back to pounding the rock, we may want a star or stable of competent guys here.

I think if you can get a guy who would profile as a star you absolutely do it. But I wouldn't add another Tawee Walker or Chez Mellusi type. I'd rather let Dupree/Jones/Yac have the carries

Agree - the only thing I'll say is I think pre-injury, Chez was a legitimate transfer get. Turned into JAG...which I think what Walker pretty much was all along.

Re: Badgers Football - Jeff Grimes Hired as OC; TVD to Portal
TVD's NIL ask to return was rumored to be quite low, so I figured there was a decent chance he'd come back. Fickell must have told him he wouldn't be the starter next year.
