Jokic can ask, but Denver isn't saying yes.

Re: The Jokic Trade
Yeah, I imagine it’d take at least Chet + some assets if OKC wanted to trade for him.

I'd say Chet + JDubb, I don't think people realize how big the difference is between Jokic and anyone on OKC's roster... SGA included.

Re: The Jokic Trade
I think Jokic is worth 15-20 unprotected 1sts in value, so a team has to be willing to leverage ALL of its picks and at least half of its valuable players. e.g. OKC would need to do Chet + all the picks it owns. Houston probably needs to do Sengun + Smith + Sheppard + Whitmore + Eason + all of the picks it owns. Other teams hoping to muster the value would need to get really creative, Utah doesn't have elite young talent and has less picks than OKC, San Antonio might not be able to muster the value trading everyone and everything that isn't Wemby ... I don't see another team with the asset base, frankly.

Not for Jokic, it isn't. Nuggets would have to be on drugs to take that deal.

I think Rockets would have to give Nuggets 3 players OF THEIR CHOICE (yes, including Amen and Eason) plus picks. Jokic is one of the best players ever and he could remain at this level for 5+ years easily. You don't get to put Amen Thompson off limits for that.

Makes no sense for the Spurs, the team isn't a contender even with Jokic if you take Wemby away, so it's better to keep developing Wemby and hoping he fulfills his immense potential. No sense in rushing the timeline.

Despite the fact that the Nuggets are not trading Jokic, OP's deals are laughable.

Re: The Jokic Trade
There’s no realism to this because Denver isn’t trading Joker at all. OKC would need to put in Chet and JDub and I’m probably fine with that, given how good Joker is.
But I think he’s also a huge wildcard, and someone I would not be surprised to see retire anytime in the next few years out of nowhere. Would make me a little worried about paying the price needed.
Again, this is all hypothetical.

Re: The Jokic Trade
If Jokic asked for a trade it's probably time for DEN to do much more and they take a step back. Their team is built around Jokic so they can't just find 2 or 3 guys in return to stay where they are, they could should get an extra pick for each of the next 2-3 years and get back some young guys. The next deal would likely be MPJ, possibly Gordon and if somebody wanted Murray because how happy is he going to be by himself.
Not to be ruled out is that Jokic has teams he'd be willing to go to and some not.
I'd look at a 3-4 team deal where the other 2-3 teams swing salary around and send picks and potential to DEN. I'd be looking at WC teams that see a playoff opening if they can get a high level right now player to help their playoff chances from the other teams by sending kids and some of their extra picks to DEN. This gives DEN assets but cuts them down in the playoffs.
I know nobody thinks the Bulls can get in on this but sending Lavine and Vucevic, Carter, maybe White or Dosunmu, that PORT pick (especially if they're in the trade) to playoff teams they get Jokic and his huge long contract and they regroup with Giddey, Williams, Smith, Buzelis, Ball, Phillips, Craig, Duarte, THT. Most of which aren't impressive adds for any teams.

Re: The Jokic Trade
The Houston package seems pretty terrible, Reed and Whitmore as the prospects going back is pretty terrible when Houston gets to hold Amen, Eason, Jabari and Green.
Sheppard value right now has to be pretty low. Not only are his numbers terrible but he can't even beat out Aaron Holiday for consistent playing time.

Re: The Jokic Trade
I mean we're talking about one of the top 25-30 players ALL TIME in the middle of his prime here. This is the equivalent of Tim Duncan demanding a trade in 2004.
It's going to take a lot more than one good young player and a pile of picks/prospects. Basically take whatever you're comfortable offering and then double it.

Re: The Jokic Trade
Any offer that doesnt start with Doncic/Wemby/Giannis/SGA/Tatum/Ant should have at least 6 unprotected 1st rounders and really good young player.
Let me remind you that KD to Suns was 4 1st rounders, swap and Mikal + Cam Johnson which ended up as 8 1st rounders, swap and Cam Johnson. And that was 34 year old Kevin Durant. Jokic is worth at least 4-5 1st rounders more on top of that.
