Guys looked good I don’t like the freezing out of McCain once in a while that’s gonna have to stop, but it is what it is

Need to see a real test before buying back in.
The Bulls are running 4-guard lineups with Ayo and LaVine at the 3 and 4, and Vucevic at the 5. And we just managed to score 108 points.
We played solidly on both ends—not elite, but decent. Our offense still feels average, even with Maxey and Embiid combining for nearly 60 points.
That said, it’s a work in progress. The key is Embiid playing more games at this high level. If he can sustain this, maybe the momentum will build from there.
If we’re looking to compete, its a step towards the right direction.

As you said, very much a work in progress (early stages). Embiid, Maxey, and PG have shared the court for 32 minutes. It should be no surprise they're not elite yet.
The worry would be that they won't have enough time together to get there if Embiid can't be available for like 2/3 of the remaining games. Obviously we can't really know the likelihood of that.

Re: Sixers V Bulls 12/8 Early Ramp Up Man Time
Onto the court:
Still not used to how skinny Joel is.... I have a pretty quality tv with decent eye sight and on that first turnaround make he had.....I thought he was PG who has been playing from that spot too when featured. Looked good out there for the most part and went after some of his patented crazy blocks that jump scare me for his knees.
George fits in so smoothly and I'm hoping he continues to pick his spots on when to fit and when to be aggressive as he did tonight and last game. Very good floor game and picks his spot on both sides
I liked the starting lineup. I liked the closing lineup. There was some straight bad spacing.... Kyle just doesn't make sense for some of these situations either especially to have no Jared or Maxey and Jared plays under 30 minutes. Maxey played 42!
Kelly.... back in his role around stars has made me happy since George returned.
Been saying Tyrese has a good overall floor game and when he's aggressive often times good things have happened as of late.... The problem recently has been just missing 3s to this level... Many open ones... Not even a lot of those step back hard ones. The guy does a good GREAT job in the pick and roll with the ball and with weapons no wasted motions to attack and that action draws the double to keep him from the basket.... He does a good enough job with a guy like Yabu for open 3s or KJ rolling who both have limitations in their finishing, but giving Joel space in those spots is just unfair... Especially with Maxey quickly resetting back to the 3pt (especially when he can make 3s). His driving and shooting threat makes him a 2 man game terror off ball with Joel and George too. Just saw a breakdown of recent games of the developing 2 man game with Paul George which is impressive. With Jared it's developing too, but he's far better off ball in that pairing relying on Jared decision making. That's clearly been an undervalued ability around these parts when the top heavy teams talent is scarce
That two man game won this game in the 2nd quarter really.
Jared is amazing still... His shooting is certainly back. They need to put the ball in his hands more during his minutes....I get it, but I also don't.
KJ still solid
I think Nurse likes the starting lineup of Joel, Yabu, Tyrese George and Oubre. Oubre even over Martin because of his scoring threat (Nurse not me). Jared not starting is because of Yabu not Oubre.... They have to have a point of attack defenders in Oubre or Martin as George can't do that all game, Maxey or Jared shouldn't either.

We scored 108 points because Nurse keeps throwing **** lineups around there with zero spacing or posting up Drummond for like 1000 times for the 3 or 4 minutes he plays.
That PG and zero spacing lineup at the beginning of the 4th was just a travesty

I don’t even understand what draw that lineup would have

Re: Sixers V Bulls 12/8 Early Ramp Up Man Time
again it really comes down to some guys not being able to play together because they overlap or suck
Oubre works as the garbage energy wing but not next to either Martin because thats also their best role...especially next to Drummond. Yabu doesn't really work next to Biid on defense at least because both are slow and big and take up the same space...on offense it should be fine but for some reason Nurse had Yabu in the paint with Biid at the top of the key chucking 3s. Lowry is a spacing killer rn because he doesn't like to shoot. just makes the margin of error so small and it just junks up the offense and sometimes even the defense. The best lineup is Maxey McCain PG Oubre Biid because everyone can technically hit an open shot and generally don't step on each others toes in terms of where they like to operate (although teams have attacked McCain a lot lately).

Agreed that's probably the best closing lineup for sure... Plan wise. I'm not a person that wants a set closing lineup and I feel this team could have instances when all the players could have a person behind them giving the team something that could allow them to sit out the close. Certainly clear that Nurse doesn't want McCain and Oubre feeling secure in that.
Also don't mind if McCain, Yabu, or Oubre starts. I'd like McCain and then some early substitutions to make sure one of him or Maxey are on the floor throughout. However, I'm happy as long as Jared is in the 28+ range of minutes.

I like that Jalen Smith guy. Do you think he's good enough to have an impact for us?
Would be a good 4/5 bench guy it seems.

Been a Jalen Smith advocate for the last two years now. He's a perfect fit on this roster as a stretch 4/5. Not sure what the he'll happened to Andre Drummond, but it appears we still need a playable backup big man. Between Yabu and Martin, it might be all we have.
