Re: Ace Bailey
Are we maybe seeing a little Danny Granger too?

I can honestly see that
A more athletic Rashard Lewis is a multiple time all star, which would be a great pick in the top 5. FYI- Rashad was twice an all star and averaged 15 points/game in 17 seasons.

Re: Ace Bailey
I don't love the Rashard Lewis comp based on the small sample size I have seen because his ability to create his own shot looks to be a bit better to me.

Ughh do you remember Seattle Sonics Rashard Lewis?
He didn't have the best handle, but he could get his own shot. That's what Bailey looks like right now. His handles are suspect, but he is good enough to get his own shot.
Maybe his game opens up more as the season goes. For right now he reminds me of Rashard Lewis with more athleticism.

Yeah, he’s like Morant without the handle and speed and highlight reel dunks and first step.
Soooo, basically he’s nothing like RJ Barrett?
Reading is fundamental my guy. I clearly said 'vibes' That doesn't mean I see him as the duplicate of R.J. we see in NBA. Asthetically, Ace reminds me of R.J., just a bit more polish and functional athleticism.
It's irritating to have to break every thing down to the most basic component because the dim witted come with smart remarks.

Re: Ace Bailey
Ace Bailey has some huge red flags wrt turnovers and assist to turnovers.
Bailey turns the ball over too much for not handling the ball enough, His assist rate is horrible for a supposed top NBA prospect. NBA wings with negative assist to turnover simply cannot be good period.
I don't see him as too elite of a shooter to compensate. He just reminds me of failed or mediocre wing prospects in the NBA too much. Of course any young player can develop in outsided way. Until Bailey gives me those signs, I assume the chances of him developing in a outsized way isn't more likely than other wings in the draft.

This guy's BBIQ is just terrible.
Would not be shocked to see him slide to the teens if he keeps up this garbage.

Re: Ace Bailey
First sign of having bad basketball IQ is going to Rutgers.
Any high pick choosing to go into a dumpster fire team has judgement issues.
If some blue blood didn't offer you a similar bag; that is already a red flag in the first place. Don't let the first stop of your pro journey be a dumpster fire. This is like someone getting to choose the Pistons/Hornets/Kangz over places like Boston/Thunder for no good reason other than zero judgement skills.
I'm dropping Ace to about 6-8 on my big board.
Right now this dude is at 0.7 Assists to 2.1 Turnovers, that's a 1/3 ATOV ratio. This ratio makes other idiot savants like Deandre Ayton and Cade Cunningham look like passing maestros.
The last 'blackhole' that got heavily punished was Cam Whitmore. Cam was hitting 0.7 to 1.6 or about 0.4375. Is there a difference between 0.4375 and 0.333? Probably not that much, but it is still 31% better...

I respect him going to Rutgers and actually getting thrown into the fire, he will be a better player by the end of the year because of it and scouts will actually have a good idea of what he is capable of... vs some of these guys that go to Duke, Kentucky, Arizona, Kansas etc that end up playing small roles and everything is trying to project them off 5 good games.

You think Ace Bailey powers his way to the rim using his physicality to finish against nba defences? I'd like to see that. If you're talking outside shot, I think Bailey is a good shooter and Barrett, by and large, is not or unproven.
I actually think there's some stats that show Bailey basicly doesn' tget to the rim at all, but I could be badly confused. So pretty opposite.

Let's playin for 9th!

I hate these guys went to Rutgers. That team will likely not make the tournament. Feels like a waste to choose that school.
Syracuse at least has a better program in the same area. Why Rutgers?

Statistically he would be the worst college player ever taken in the top 10 going by production (1.3 BPM).
Obviously has time to change that, but he's been really really bad so far.

Harper went there because his brother did. I assume Bailey wanted to play with Harper and they were probably offering good NIL money.

Re: Ace Bailey
Bailey has his warts, but Pikiell has that dude playing hard. it's fun to watch a young guy with so much god-given talent come in and out work everybody on the court. playing hard isn't enough, he needs to play better and figure some things out, but he's controlling the one thing he can control, which is effort. i have to think with as much talent as he has on the offensive end, things will come around if he continues to work.

Re: Ace Bailey
I like Bailey but i would guess he goes in the 3-5 range. I dont see him as a contender for the top pick.
I like the amount of effort i've seen from him on defense. He looks like he has a frame that will fill out pretty well. He already looks noticably bigger than he was last year.

Hello gang. Another 0 to 3 game.
Bailey is closer to out of lotto than being the #3 pick.
