IND/WAS/LAL

Post#1 » by dcstanley » Tue Dec 10, 2024 12:03 am

IND in: Jonas Valanciunas, Max Christie, Jalen Hood-Schifino, 2029 protected LAL FRP
WAS in: Gabe Vincent, Max Lewis, 2025 LAC SRP, 2027 LAL SRP, 2028 IND SRP
LAL in: Myles Turner and James Johnson

Pacers move Turner for a cheaper center, protected FRP, and young prospect in Christie. Turner is a flight risk this summer and the Pacers would have to become a 2nd apron team to re-sign him.

WAS trades Jonas for multiple seconds.

Lakers acquire a starting center in his prime that they hope to retain going forward.

Wiz have extra seconds for the next few years already. Give us the first with reasonable protections and Indiana 3 seconds and sure, we're in assuming no one else outbids this. I'd be surprised if Indiana bites though.

Christie has a rough first 5 games to the season but besides that he's been a 58% TS guy giving decent defense.

I think Lakers will value this more than OP, not sure if other teams value him though. He's only worth giving up for value.

Christie is good. He has a lot of upside but I would gladly trade him for a prime starting caliber center that can shoot the three ball. Turner solves like half of the Lakers biggest problems on his own.

I agree but my point is I'm not sure if other teams see his value yet? Last time I checked on here he was seen as a negative.

His first 5 games were terrible, sure but so have been his most recent 5 games. He’d be an interesting flyer if he were on year 3 of a rookie contract at $3m, but entering he first year of a 4/32m, he’s not nearly as interesting.

No, I don’t see Indy considering this. If there’s concern that Indy is slowing the pace down too much to play with Siakam, shifting Turner for Valanciunas only makes it doubly worse.

Typical Laker proposal that is only good for the Lakers.

And typical (sadly) for you reply that is just personal attacks and baiting and offering no content. Take a break and come back thinking about ways to contribute to discussion please.

TS by month so far:

October 43.6
November 62.5
December 48.8

Still too small a sample size to draw any conclusions with his limited shot attempts/minutes. I wouldnt pay any value for him though

Yeah I tend to think Lakers value him most, which makes it unlikely to put him in a trade.

I agree also, I don't see Pacers moving on from Turner. While it would be cool to see him with Davis, the Lakers perimeter defense would still suffer.

I think a Turner trade would involve Reaves.

What do you think the chances are Turner walks this summer?

Don’t see why IND would prefer to downgrade for a pick in 4 years. Not enough incentive.

Not sure this is the direction IND wants to go.

This looks out of LALs budget, JV seems more like a player they could afford.

Don’t know. Both sides have talked repeatedly and glowingly of re signing together long term, but it all depends on what Indy ends up offering this summer, no? And what others offer? Not a lot of cap space out there, and he has a chance to end up with a no trade clause in Indy, which might be huge with his eternal trade rumors? But, again, money, years, competing offers, and whether Indy offers the NTC all matter.

small. I think we trade someone else to solve the tax problem. a month ago I would've said Nesmith but we're stinking with him out so maybe Nembhard or even Mathurin or Walker.
