Mitch Rob + WAS 1st + rights to Rokas for Adams and Whitemore could make some sense if we think we could develop Whitemore as a long-term prospect. Houston would have to really love Mitch's fit with their ballclub though. Not a bad trade for either team.

When healthy, Robinson should be a lot better than Adams .

A lot better is a stretch, I think... Adams is really solid on both ends. Historically, he has been way more durable than Mitch as well. Anyhow, we'll probably wait to see how Mitch does upon his return so it's all moot right now.

Mitch + WAS 1st for Herb Jones, however... sign me up.

Herb Jones man, I’m all for it!

this is who we need to be going all out for

I still love Sexton and Kessler more at around 20 million combined.

If we can keep Achiuwa though and basically trade Mitch for Herb Jones as core pieces… I’m all for it.

Thats too much to pay for for Adams imo. I am fine with losing Mitch but not for Adams. I don't know enough about Whitemore to comment on him.

I won't be surprised if they move Mitch for more defense and durability... We know they've been shopping Mitch for the past year so it won't be any surprise to me. We also know the front office loves their pre trade deadline moves to nudge the team forward to a higher step. Let's see...

Whitmore showed flashes of significant potential last season with the Rockets. What he does bring is the type of player that you can argue the Knicks may be lacking off the bench. An explosive wing that can defend, finish and shoot. He's not having a good season this year but a lot of folks that follow the Rockets blame that more on the depth of the players the Rockets have at the wing/forward positions that were drafted higher, are more high profile, etc.

That Washington 1st is going to end up being a 2nd round pick due to protections on it in all likelihood. And Whitmore should do real well on a team lead by Villanova alumni that he's very familiar with already (Whitmore also is a Nova boy). He has some warts but I think in the right situation he can improve. He's a tough ass guy and between Thibs system and all the Nova alumni on this team I think he can evolve and become a real good bench option. And thats something this team lacks with Deuce and Cam Payne being really the only consistent offensive guys off the bench. Whitmore paired up with those guys could be interesting.

i feel like the need for defensive minded long wings is more of a necessity tbh. especially of the goal is beating boston

I just saw on the ticker that Dorian Finney Smith is available. Any interest?

He's another 3/4 that can space and defend.

It would have to be Mitch and a rookie...or Ryan for DFS and whatever. We can't take back more salary in a trade. Then we have to worry about next year's cap/apron issues to fill out the roster.

things can change on a dime.

It would not shock me at all if Leon this summer considers mikal + hart package for a third top 15-20 player imo.

just keep your mind open to it.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. For the most part they have been great at trades. If they wanna keep changing the formula though, what are we doing? I trust them but, sooner than later they need to focus on one direction. We have had 5 different teams in 5 years.

Ah sh*t. I didn't realize he made that much.

There has to be a cheaper option out there.

Nah forget it. I just saw his name and thought he'd be a good fit but I didn't bother to check his contract.

Too bad though. The team could use one more wing.

I trust the FO will do whatever they can to fix things. We still haven't seen , Mitch at all and very little of Precious. I can't imagine what their trade value would be right now but, I doubt it's very high.

I assume they are working the phones and waiting to see what breaks loose. I trust them. In the meantime I want to see a deeper rotation until we find whatever player/s we can get.

Mitch has one more year on his deal.
Knicks aren't going to lose the salary slot for nothing.
He gets moved between this season deadline or next

Exactly they aren't trading him for a player that needs to get paid after this year. Unless he's gonna get Mitch level money. $12-14mil per. They are going to tap dance below that apron until they go all in. That's why he's still here. They haven't found a replacement. This could change in the blink of an eye with this FO though.

IMO all we need is a healthy Mitch or, that level player off the bench and, another wing. Could we upgrade the backup PG? Not with our budget. Cam/Deuce are a great bench backcourt. Precious is a good bench player but, Mikal/OG for 40+ every night is a recipe for disaster.

Brunson(32)/Cam(16)
Mikal(32)/Deuce (16)
Hart(38)/Pac(10)
OG(32)Precious(16)
KAT(32)/Precious(16)

I want to see something more a long these lines than the BS Thibs does. Obviously you can flex the minutes some but, that's the base we should be working with going forward. At the very least take Pacs 10 minutes and divide them amongst Deuce/Payne. Not 40+ mpg every night for Mikal/OG.
