Guys like Schroder (or possibly even Chris Paul) can be available this year.

Spurs won't buy CP3 out. He has been a great mentor to their young players esp Castle.

What I'm going to guess we're looking for is a good young prospect at a position of need - point guard, specifically - expiring deals (and your deal isn't that) and however many picks we can get.

Well if Miami don't want Reaves for themselves then it's probably better Lakers keep him and give value in other ways. It will depend on what Miami wants from a 3rd team and what that 3rd team wants.

The Lakers can't make up that value. They're short on assets.

If you want a young prospect guard then why do you are for expirings? That direction seems like a slight rebuild.

Right, a slight rebuild, the team staying competitive, while maintaining cap flexibility for 2026

Can you name the point guard you'd think Miami would want?

No, honestly, I have no idea, but that's our biggest area of need.

Uhm what do you think a 35 year old Jimmy on an expiring making about 50m is worth?

19 5 and 5 and his defense isnt the same anymore

Yeah, that’s current state of the season.

There’s a world where Jimmy is traded to LAL in January, and SAS is out of the playoff race by February.

You can easily see CP3 and SAS front office agreeing that his job is done, and he can go chase a championship and retire with his banana boat bestie in LA, where he lives. In fact, this move might help elevate SAS front office to more agents in the future.

You don't know the history of The Spurs (at least under Pop) and the Lakers.

No way in hell are they willing to do a move to help the Lakers (like buying out CP3)

It's that kind of total pettiness that makes me adore coach Pop even more lol

Jimmy's having one of his most efficient seasons yet and is defense has been great. Don't know what you're talking about. I'm also not saying he's worth a fortune - just more than the bag of meh the Lakers would offer without Reaves inclusion...
