Not sure what your team's salary cap is looking forward, but what kind of offer would you like see the Vikings make?

are you mistaking me for duke or worm again? i can barely name half the players on the team much less know the cap situation for the next few years
normally we're always in pretty good shape cap-wise because we have a great cap guy (if rob brzenzski is still there). won't be as good if we go forward with the rookie, might have to cut back on some talent elsewhere if we toss a little money sam's way

the other side of this is what's darnold thinking? is he just after the most money?
the team can just point to cousins, who was in this same good situation darnold is in now but kirk chased all the money in the world (which is what most anyone would have done) and it isn't working out. they'll need to see how the rest of the season turns out (if darnold completely falls apart in the playoffs they probably move on from him) but as of right now the vikings probably say "sam, we can't pay you $40-50+m a year and still be competitive. we can do like $20-30m for 2-3 years and roll this back" then see if he takes it

As of right now, I think unless Sam leads the Vikings to the Super Bowl, the plan is JJ is the starting QB next year and the Vikings get 4 more years of not having to pay the QB big money.

If your right and the Vikings go down this path, can't help but wonder what options open up for Sam Darnold.
