The heartbreaks are real though. When I was a kid all we did was win Super Bowls and now instead of irrelevance like my Bulls, they just lose in the most painful ways. It has been three Super Bowl losses in the last three appearances.

It does suck. I cried as a kid when any of these teams lost important games. I cried when the Red Wings bloodied up the Blackhawks in the playoffs. I cried when Orlando Shaq, Penny, and a quite boastful Horace Grant beat the Bulls and knocked them out of the playoffs. I cried when Ewing's Knicks beat us by 30 in some regular season game during the 70 win season.

I still "follow" by checking ESPN for the scores of all my respective teams, dopamine hit when there's a win, and just try to forget or bury it if its a loss (like yesterday's awful Victory Bell game yesterday). But as my spouse's family says, were not contributing or getting paid at all, so...

More concerned about the morbid socio-economic and political direction of this country here in the US of A.

You want him to check in mental hospital? When country majority choice is they would rather select their first dictator and criminal instead first women president, he already knows his life is not only gonna get better, but its gonna get a lot worse.

So lets stay sports fans and stay on topic. Chicago sports are currently maybe in worst state in history of the city. Everyone in city is bad, with no hope on sight in shorter future. So if sports affect him bad, just finding outside activities and hobbies would be healthy option.

It has not been fun being a Chicago sports fan since 2016. So I've made the Bulls and Bears irrelevant and Cubs/Hawks are rounding the corning of irrevelancy. So I've only boxscore follow these teams, at this point.

This is probably a low point for me.

I left Chicago 19,5 years ago. In a few months, I will officially have spent more time living outside of Chicago than living there. So now, the idea of supporting Chicago teams with my attention is extremely limited. I just find myself tuning out and moving on from sports in general.

The politicization of sports. The lack of success from Chicago teams. It is making sports less interesting. Consider the spend on sports now. The average NFL ticket in 1990 was $24. Accounting for inflation, that price is $57. Now, the average ticket price is $120.

It's a business that needs to feed itself from the spend from the fans. Lately, I have no interest in donating any money to any of these leagues. They exploit the fans who grew up watching at a time when being a fan was much more affordable. I'd rather spend that money elsewhere.
