I'm gonna attempt this absolutely ridiculous dish.
Did you make this yet? It looks pretty good.

I ordered the specific pan he's using in the video. Probably didn't need it, but Le Creuset was having a sale last week and I don't have a non-stick pan that can stand up to high temps in the oven. Hoping it arrives by the weekend because I'll try making it Saturday or Sunday. Last weekend I made the beef stock.

I went to a hobby shop and bought my older brother a couple of Revell model airplane kits, complete with the appropriate paint pots/glue/brushes/all ready to go- I got him a Spitfire and a Messerschmitt (both the appropriate models of each for the Battle of Britain). I was thinking "he used to be in to these a lot as a kid, this might give him a few quiet brain hours now".
Got back to the office, 3 different grown men saw I had a hobby store bag and asked me what was in it and when they saw it was model planes and I explained it was for my grown man older brother each of them nearly burst into tears with excitement and recounted memories to me of how much they loved them as a kid. I feel like this was a good, thoughtful purchase.

My dude, I am stealing this idea for my brother. I think he'd really dig it. Thanks!

Sharing the idea in case it worked for anyone is exactly why I posted it- nobody (I assume!) would expect it as a gift. I thought it was a pretty good idea, then seeing the reaction from guys in the office I realised "oh, this is a great idea!".

It was so **** delicious but, suffice to say, maybe a little too spicy.
