**** Thibs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This needs to be posted on every page, what a joke of a coach. His secret sauce is playing his starters more than anyone else.

If I were Leon I'd be scared to death that one of these guys are gonna go down for the season. Fatigue absolutely can play a part in injuries. The main guys who I'm worried about are OG and KAT.

I dunno. I think the defensive issues and Mikal's inconsistency are serious issues but this to me might be the reason why everything falls apart in the 4th.

People on here will defend this nonsense tooth and nail, it's only a matter of time before one of them is injured and things get even worse as far as minutes go. How can anyone look at that list and see 4 players on the same team and act like it's just injuries that causes it. As though we're the only team with any injuries.

This is clearly someone that isn't an imaginative coach which is why he leans so heavily on his starters.

A lot of teams gel in December and start winning more.
Others start getting scouted and exposed.
Like the Knicks did in that KP season.

I think the Knicks are getting exposed
Might not even be a .500 ,team, doing the classic Knicks January January February implosion

It's the HC getting exposed. We have the talent. We just don't have the right HC. Stubborn orc refuses to change.

Losing Shart and Mitch changed everything. We made good trades to improve the team. It just doesn't fit the HC without Shart/Mitch at the 5.

Thibs defense is what his team revolves around. Without that, he can't win in this league. His offense is non existent and easily shut down as we have seen repeatedly. Mitch healthy and the new players in the starting 5 would probably look a lot like the team we almost had last season. Except we would have a better defender at the 2 and MUCH BETTER PF.

Go get Kessler!

Exactly this bro, couldn’t have said it better myself
All of these points beautifully illustrate my frustration with the team. As you said bro, the defense of Thibs is predicated on a defensive big. The team we have now just does not work with what Thibs is known for. Though the starting lineup we have now is better than what we ever had, it’s up to Thibs to make it work. The problem is, he knows only one way to coach and does not put the team in the right position to win if he doesn’t get the right kind of players to work in his system.

I’m in the same boat as you man, Mitch back would help us a ton with a defensive presence inside, and with rebounding. The thing is, Mikal should not be guarding point of attack on defense. In order to make this work, we have to shift Mikal and hart to the bench, and start deuce with Mitch (when he’s back)

Mikal/Hart/OG should be switching and nullifying the POA. EVERYONE should be. KAT should be up on the screens and not in drop coverage as well. This would change everything. Live and die with a mismatch on Brunson or whoever and hope to recover to the paint to stop any drives. Giving up wide open threes and having guys beat themselves to death 40 minutes a night fighting through screens is dumb. Thibs is dumb. I don't care what anyone says, he's a problem. I would not care if he was fired but, since he won't be this season, figure it out stupid! You have one of the most talented and balanced rosters we have had in decades and we are 15-10. Losing games because he can't make simple adjustments.

This is precisely it, switch all screens, and no more drop coverage, live or die with the roll man beating you and hoping the wings come over to help in rotation. It’s simple changes that can be made and we can legit have a chance to win these games. Thibs needs to go, bring Jay Wright or a coach that will actually adapt. I’m tired of watching this team be limited by what they are being told to do. They need a coach that will change this. Thibs is so friggin stubborn bro, it’s just two simple changes that he can do to help. Stop playing drop, and switch everything.

He’s so friggin stubborn in what he wants his teams to do defensively, which is why only a certain type of team/ personnel can fit the mold of what he needs to be done. Your post is exactly what’s in my brain while watching this team. :banghead: :banghead:

I bang my head every night looking at this trash. We won’t ever win man. It’s inevitable, yet people on the board will say “but but but he helped us become a playoff team”

Yes, the Knicks just need 50 to 55 games for the magical "gelling" to happen.

Then they'll be SO dominant.

Sure.

How about, “Just wait until Mitch gets back!”????

Thibs is trash. He's a defensive asst and nothing more on a championship team. He cannot adjust his schemes/systems to his roster. That's a problem. He has NEVER won anything and he refuses to see what the problems are. We have all listed them hundreds of times.

We will have the Sixers problems soon enough of he is allowed to destroy our players for regular season wins against scrub teams. We are barely even beating scrub teams some of the time either.

We see it every year. Limping into the playoffs and falling short. His short rotations are dangerous and have cost us every single year he has been here. It's enough to drive you crazy.

We need to figure it out and give him the rest of the season with our fingers crossed. If he can't get us to the ECF at the very least, he needs to go. PERIOD. I am ready for him to go right now.

Because he can't be trusted to stay healthy. What do we do when we get him back and he gets hurt again after the trade deadline? Wait until next year? We need a rim protector we can trust whether we keep Mitch or not. Even then we have to hope Thibs can keep the players healthy for the end of the season and the playoffs. A lot of "I doubt it" going on around here because of Thibs stubborn ways.

Brother are you a Knick fan? Reading through stuff it’s nothing but negativity, damn….8th in the league.. a top 3 offense and a defense that holds teams to the 10th least points per game with its defensive monster coming back soon. They are going to be just fine.

Na the East is way too bad for that to be true. We
probably end up as a team that beats up on bad teams and loses to good teams. Just like last year.

I do like the persona of Thibs and he has done a lot for us but he probably does need to go for the Knicks to hit the next level.

We’re still a soft team mentally and that’s not on the coach.

We need some new personnel. Guy who play tough, rebound and defend. Back to what worked.

We drastically changed what worked for us last year and it’s clearly showing.
