That's not true. You're just not happy that your guy didn't come first.

It's consensus in most of the world that Jordan is the GOAT... because he has all bases covered- it's an absolute slaughter.

Dude I’m team MJ all day- I saw both and I really think it’s not that close- btw I’m wearing blue toe union 1s right now - I think the lebron fans are mostly young guys that didn’t see MJ cause if they saw MJ they wouldn’t vote LeBron -

My arguement for MJ is he was the unquestioned best player on earth for 10 + years and there were multiple years during Lebrons prime where people thought there is a possibility that Steph or KD were better than LeBron…. And there wasn’t a minute for 10+ years where MJ wasn’t considered the best player on earth.., even when he was playing baseball - he was still the best BASKETBALL player on earth

I count 9 seasons where MJ was the unquestioned best player on earth (1988-1993, 1996-1998) to LeBron's 5 (2009-2013). That's still an impressive advantage for Jordan to be clear

Every game of MJs prime was like watching the best game LBJ ever played - no hyperbole. It was like he never let us down. I remember watching him against the bullets live and it was legit the craziest game I ever saw. And then the next time I saw him - it was again the craziest game I ever saw. Like Jordan could have 30 and it was like he controlled every second of the games outcome… where SGA or LeBron or Kawhi have 30 and you like… wow when did that happen.

Also passing the ball to the guy MJ was guarding was just as crazy as him on offense.

What people don’t get is, when AI crossed over MJ, it was news cause people didn’t just cross over MJ… think about that.

The best handling small guard came into the league and people said- “dont worry, MJ gonna shut that crap down” because mj was the goat on on ball defense too (Jordan took defense seriously and as serious as offense)… people don’t get it - it’s not mj or LeBron - it’s insulting to think it’s mjs prime or LeBrons peak- and that’s not close-

Logically- It’s mjs prime vs LeBrons sustained excellence and longevity- which is debatable

It’s like if Luka had Ja’s, athleticism, Kawhis body, KDs mid range, CP3s handle, Jason Browns attitude, Giannis ability to dunk on you at any time, Jru holiday and Whites desire to play you on defense and get in your personal space every damn possession, lebrons basketball IQ, the showmanship and utter disrespect of Steph when he has It rolling and it’s “night night”(which is every game)- and will swat your shot like Wemby… and will fight you - but ain’t dirty like draymond: then you got this MJ cat-

Don't let anybody tell you the Jordan Nike marketing campaign wasn't the most effective sports marketing campaign ever.

Yeah that is gross hyperbole, absurd really. “Every game MJ played in his prime is like watching LBJs best game”… I mean what can you even say at that point. It’s ridiculous. It’s grounds to dismiss anything basketball related post afterwards. It’s basically a cult at this point, I don’t know how else to describe it. I get MJ was an incredible player, but yikes.

Yeah can’t take anyone seriously that says something insane like that and says “no hyperbole” after it lol. You can’t just say “no hyperbole” about something that is quite literally nothing but a ridiculous hyperbole.

I love RealGM but this place is wild. Just doesn’t make sense sometimes at any level.

For clarity - a couple things

1st - REALGM is a wild place

2nd- I’m on REALGM a lot and I’m one of the reasons why REALGM is a wild place

3rd- as a literary vehicle- when ever anyone says “no hyperbole” it is immediately followed by hyperbole- When someone says no hyperbole you read it essentially knowing it’s hyperbole for effect. For god sakes...

https://www.thesportster.com/nba-best-games-lebron-james/

Lebron has some insane games....I’m not crazy dude...REALGM is a bar conversation with your boys- some of our boys post absolute stats to make a point- I reserve hard math and analysis for my actual job...

4th - I will also say think LBJ was only the best guy on earth u questioned for a quarter of his career and MJ was for 80% of his and that matters.

5th LBJ could make the argument as the goat if it’s not about peak but about sustained excellence which he has be great for 20 years...this year he is still a top 30-20mplayer

I initially though that this thread was about GOAT of realgm posters, which would have been somewhat interesting. Rather, it is just another dull game of GOAT between Lebron and Michael Jordan. I have not even read a single post yet, but I already feel like my IQ is dropping.

IMO LBJ is the GOAT.

The fact that many people still expect him to play at an All-Star level in year 22 is all the proof I need. His consistent high level production over the course of more than two decades is phenomenal.

Not refuting MJ as the Goat, but what stupid statistical "proof" there....Lebron has 28 playoff tripple-doubles, to MJ's 2. So what?

What bases? He has 1 base covered.....titles. Lebron has him on points scored (by huge margin). Assists (miles ahead). Rebounds (miles ahead). Playoff points, rebound, assists. Tripple-doubles. Playoff tripple-doubles.

Jordan has him on steals, but Lebron has him on Blocks.

Again...there are things about Jordan you can't deny, and I prob do have him as my goat (I admittedly go back and forth) but "absolute slaughter" is laughable.

Sooo, you admitedly say that you go back and forth between "Jordan and Lebron", but also say "maybe even with in those two" you have Kareem?... I mean I'm not argueing with you, as everyone has their own reason as to why, but something don't add up here? You have to choose my man

My quote was "I admittedly go back and forth" - not - "I admittedly go back and forth between Jordan and Lebron."

Kareem has alot of arguments above Jordan (the points and rebounds, has as many titles - more appearances) But Lebron has admittedly taken over a ton of those longevity-stats. Kareem does have his signature unstoppable shot. Lebron is clearly the better all around player, with a much longer career....and is still all-star level 20 years in. But Jordan is clearly the guy you want for 1 game. So the issue with the whole GOAT argument is - goat for what? I mean, if you wanna say Jordan's smaller slice was more effective, then what about Wilt's 50-point season? Where he also averaged 25.7 rebounds...I mean that's effin nuts. And it wasn't just 1 year. Wilts first seven years were all well above 30 points, and 20 rebounds....well above.

So you tell me what's the prime stat for GOAT. Cause if its titles....then it's not close...and it ain't Jordan.

About a decade ago, I saw a crazy stat

50 point playoff games since 1984

Jordan - 8
everyone else combined - 13
:o LeBron is 0-7 in game winning/tying FGs in the finals. And is 20/116 or 17% in game winning/tying FGs in the 4th/OT for his career. That's historically bad :o
