Umm, no. Davis was highly criticized and shunned for his decision.
As was Antonio Brown, who did the exact same thing that Campbell did.
Like Davis & Brown, Campbell didn't even have the gumption to continue to show his face on the sideline. He walked into the locker room in the 3rd quarter.

I would distinguish the Davis case a bit, though there are obvious parallels. Davis retired. I don't see Campbell doing that. I don't approve of abandoning your team in the middle of a game, but football is a brutal sport, and Davis is a guy who has dealt with a fair bit of personal tragedy (brother who was murdered at a young age, as memory serves). He also died under mysterious circumstances that suggest it might have been a suicide, so possible mental health issues or substance abuse at play. It was also game two of the season, which his team was losing by 25 points, so it's not like his presence was likely to have made the difference.
To some degree, you have to be a little insane to play football, knowing what we know about CTE and the longterm effects of that amount of pounding on the body. If someone decides to walk away entirely, even if the timing is awful, I can respect that self-awareness. If that's what Campbell is doing, then I will withdraw some of my criticism. But it sure doesn't look that way, especially given his loss of snaps to Winters and Greenlaw's return.
