The NBA Cup quarterfinal games averaged 1.36 million viewers across TNT and ESPN.

The number is down 1% from last season's 1.38 million viewer average.

Tuesday's Mavs-Thunder game was the most-watched matchup at 1.5 million viewers. 1.2 million viewers tuned in for the Magic-Bucks beforehand.

ESPN averaged 1.4 million viewers for the Hawks-Knicks on Wednesday. 1.3 million viewers watched the Warriors-Rockets on TNT.

The NBA has admitted to inflating its viewership numbers in the past but these numbers are laughable! Anything to pretend we give a rats ass about this “tournament”.

Yet, the NFL on Prime Video did north of 17m last week for Lions/Packers. Kind of glad to see the NBA cup failing.

Finalists should get automatic top 5 seeds. Winner should get an automatic top 4 seed meaning homecourt in the First Round.

Since the championship game only means something to rookies and bench players, teams should rest their starters.
