A completely off the wall, outside-the-box idea...
MIA
Out: Butler & Rosier
In: Collins, Sexton, & Clarkson
Would the Heat braintrust consider a Butler trade where the returned value includes moving Scary Terry, adding veteran depth, and getting them completely out of the tax this season?
HOU
Out: VanVleet
In: Butler
Upgrade from FVV to Butler, who supposedly wants to be in Houston.
UTA
Out: Collins, Sexton, & Clarkson
In: VanVleet & Rosier
The value for the Jazz is in FVV's contract which has a team option for next season. Take on an additional $18.7MM this season while staying under the tax, potentially opening up more space in the summer.

Re: HOU=MIA=UTA, 6 Players
I feel like Houston isn’t ready for Butler if they lose FVV. They should find the way to add him to FVV/Sengun and the forwards they have if they’re trying to compete..
Utah deal is really good value but seems strange. FVV isn’t just an expiring contract.. sacrificing Sexton’s value to then have to flip FVV for value feels like extra work, even if it’s good value..

Flipping FVV would be a possibility, but a difficult one. Declining his team option is only really advantageous if the Jazz have a FA target in mind. Just spitballing here.
I admit... it's strange.

I think it’s just off to trade for such a decent impact player in the middle of a tank.
And for Miami, they likely aren’t interested in the value at all.
Houston’s offer should be around Jalen and stacked contracts with whatever asset Miami can push out.
As an outsider, I would try a Houston/Miami based deal that both sides would hate and involve Butler and JJJ to Houston. Help balance the roster in Houston and increase the asset return for Miami in what should be a lost season at that point... And the third team ending up with Green, just save Miami as much money as possible..

Politely, Utah passes. Clearing the books is not the priority. We don’t want to compete for 3-4 years. We want draft capital. If all that happens is clearing the books I’d rather keep any of those three players and look to move them at another time.

Re: HOU=MIA=UTA, 6 Players
No team needs both Sexton and Clarkson (including the Jazz). I don't think Clarkson has positive trade value. I don't think Clarkson is better than Rozier. While I think the Heat could talk themselves into Collins, try replacing Clarkson with an actual asset.

The two are about on par in terms of impact, but Clarkson comes $12MM cheaper next season. To me that's the asset. Though it's all moot if Miami would rather just let Jimmy expire.
