I'd never heard of Mark Williams before. Damn.

Ayo and Giddey with good games. Zach and Coby with bad ones. Jalen Smith is not a rebounder. Of course, it didn't help that he mainly played with 4 guards. Pat was back and looking fat. Overall uninspiring win.

Mark Williams tho.

Expected win against a terrible Hornets team.

Not a great shooting game for Matas.

That was an ugly game to watch-just chucking up 3's

I think Giddy is a GREAT long term piece, but not as a starter. 24-30 min off the bench is fine for him (and paid accordingly)

I like Coby, but let's trade him as soon as he hits one of his hot streaks. Ayo/Lavine/Matas/PWill/Vuc starting lineup please

There is zero reason for Matas to start that's not tanking related.

Giddey/Ayo/LaVine fit each other like a glove.

Giddey was not good. He was really not guarded. He could have easily got 40 if he was aggressive.

Zach did a good job on defense and he was double when he got the ball.

I don't want to go back and count how many times I've said that this win didn't tell us much against a bad team missing a key guy, but probably at least 4 times. That was some epicly bad shooting by both teams, but I am squarely in the "ride or die by the 3" camp this season. I loved that we got a post-Vuc preview too...seemed like we seemed to score about 15 less and the other team seemed to score about 20 less, so IMO a net positive.

So keeping the topic, I was very happy from what I saw from Smith out there. He gave great energy on both ends. 5 blocks/10 RB's! I've been saying how much I want him starting all season. Sell high on Vuc!

Giddey had a game. Others have noted and I agree, he's doing better on defense (4 steals!)...especially matched up on F/C's. Good to see him make some shots too and he does what we want from Pat in terms of going after RB's.

Ayo is interesting in terms of the level of his aggressiveness seems to massively change for the whole game depending on whether he makes a few shots early. Personally, I love him just going end-to-end and attacking the rim 5 times a game...it seems to energize him.

Matas struggled to get his shot to fall tonight, but loved his blocks. I will keep saying that we gotta keep this kid from adding too much weight (10 lbs prob fine) because his is so quick and nimble on defense. Being +11 when you shoot 1-11 is quite a feat.

Ball's energy and impact are what many wished for and most here thought impossible. He is so inspirational and I think he's like Caruso in that he lifts the effort level of the other guys when they see his multiple defensive efforts on the same play.

Pat looked understandably off and fat. It may take him a good couple months to get back in good shape. Really hope Billy keeps him coming off the bench as motivation until then.

Zach didn't have it going offensively tonight and those brain fart TO's are something I won't miss when he's gone, but still kudos to him leading the team in +/- and nabbing 3 steals (see my earlier point on Ball).

I love watching Lonzo Ball play basketball

That Lonzo to Zach alley-oop just fills me with visions of what could have been.

Ayo Dosunmu stays automatic from 2-point range, was 5-6 from 2 tonight. Hit his threes tonight too which gives you a glimpse of the full potential.

I like that Matas is positively impacting games even when his shot isn't falling. 3 offensive rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 blocks.

Zach is doing well letting the game come to him. 5 turnovers is bad.

I also overall liked Giddey tonight. We know he can be a stat-sheet stuffer, the question for him will remain can he do so while impacting winning. Well he was a +15 tonight which was good to see. Also had 5 turnovers which is simply too many.

Smith with his first start of the season. A sign of things to come if/when Vuc is moved? Similar to Matas his shot wasn't falling tonight but he was still making an impact. Got to the line 6 times and had 5 blocks. That's something you haven't seen much from a Chicago Bulls center in recent years.

Williams looked pretty bad in his return. Given how he looked I don't mind that he is coming off the bench. For the first time in his career - let's make him earn it.

The Taj standing ovation was awesome and makes me feel like I need to buy tickets to the Knicks games/D Rose night
