Have we seen the last of Vuc? Didn’t play last night because of “illness.” Trading officially starts tomorrow. Could there be a deal already in place?

I don’t know, but this Vuc is going to be the cheapest/best-value buy since Bucks’ Brook Lopez and C’s Horford buy-back (after taking a fake retirement vacation in OKC).
I think 20-30th pick is the best they’ll do. ORL, GSW could get him for nothing. He’s been a big liability for the Bulls, but his 20/10 could obviously help a deep team.

Wonder if Paul Reed getting waived by DET is a prelude to a deal? I'm still a bit baffled by DET's interest...I guess they are focused on catapulting into mediocrity?

I don't know about this. I think AK is bad, but you can't let that just make you conclude he'll never actually do anything. There have been multiple reports that the Bulls would like to trade Vooch. Now there are reports of multiple interested teams. There seems to be no real reason to think Vooch is likely to stick around.
Probably the same reason as the last 2 season, the fabulous play-in tournament. The Bulls are within reach once again and will likely be throughout the season.
Yes, and in prior years, it has been consistently reported that the Bulls wanted to make the play-in and AK himself said as much. This season? Nope.
It hasn't been reported that they want to tear it down either, in fact they said earlier in the season that this years pick has no bearing on this season.
Vuc isn't going anywhere.

It doesn't have to be.
He could have genuinely been ill.
Vuc isn't getting traded.

If they are dumping Reed, it would signal that DET is taking back more players than they are sending out, right? Could also imply that they aren't sending back a center in the deal, so no Stewart or Duren. I like some of their young guys, but right now I'm thinking the deal is Vuc and one of Carter or Craig (since we aren't sitting any of our usual rotation guys) for Hardaway and a lotto protected 1st?

Detroit is definitely setting up to facilitate a trade(s) as a 3rd team by opening up that cap space.

makes sense. so Vuc going somewhere else. an expiring and a couple 2nds going to DET. a young asset or a pick going to Chicago.

Vuc with Craig should get us a late 1st.
I’d look to add our 2nd via the Kings with Vuc to get a non lottery better 1st. Basically a swap moving us up 20 spots.
With Banchero not being close I could see Magic being an option. DET. Dubs. Lakers.

Yep. Exact type of deal I’ve been saying for Vuc. Bulls add their 2nd get a 1st. Basically a swap.

Does this take them out of the running for Vuc...think so. That Melton salary was big part of the salary matching.

Looney and GP2 and both expiring equaling 17M.

Good point. Although I think GSW is just below the 2nd apron, but maybe they could include a young guy to get there for Vuc.

They have a couple guys that could help.
I believe the Bulls have 1M in room as well.
Wonder if BPod will be traded. He’s having a rough year and with Shroeder coming he will be getting even less burn.

That'd be a win...Vuc for GP2, Looney and Podz.

I hope Podz and GP2 can play SF or PF because that's a very crowded backcourt. Bulls would also have to release 2 players to make the trade.
