Vincent for Valanciunas (Bonus trade with Utah's Kessler)
It seems like an obvious trade.
Vincent slots in to a $12m TPE the Wizards have, they therefore generate a $10m TPE by moving Valanciunas.
Lakers want Val, been linked since offseason.
Lakers and Wiz have dealt several times.
All the typical foreshadowing of an actual trade.
So how do you balance the value of this trade of Vincent for Valanciunas with picks?
Bonus trade idea:
Lakers get Valanciunas
Lakers give Vincent, unprotect LAL27FRP
Wizards get Vincent (in to TPE), Kessler, $10m TPE
Wizards give Valanciunas, PBJ, WSH27FRP(1-6 protected, conveys 28 if FRP with Knicks conveys in 26)
Jazz get PBJ, unprotect LAL27FRP, WSH27FRP(1-6 protected, conveys 28 if FRP with Knicks conveys in 26)
Jazz give Kessler
Logic of trade is that Wiz see Sarr+Kessler as a dynamic frontcourt of future.

Re: Vincent for Valanciunas
A few 2nds? Val isn't worth a first, nor should dumping Vincent for Val. Maybe send JHS, too.
Vincent, 2nds into TPE
Val into TPE
JHS into TPE
I think that is the order of operations, but net would be:
Vincent, JHS, 2nd or 2
For
Val
Vincent, 2nds into TPE
Val into TPE
JHS into TPE
I think that is the order of operations, but net would be:
Vincent, JHS, 2nd or 2
For
Val

Re: Vincent for Valanciunas
Yeah I thought 2 2nds but there has been push back from Wizards fans that highlight that Wizards already have a ton of SRPs.
I actually wonder if Wizards might give Lakers some SRPs and in exchange Lakers would give an FRP swap in 2028 or 2030.

Re: Vincent for Valanciunas
If Vincent was expiring, this would be more accurate. Since he has an extra year, this feels like a late first kind of gap. But I would absolutely NOT send a high upside pick for Valanciunas under no circumstance. The Lakers are an ocean away from contention, and Valanciunas might barely get you through a puddle.

Re: Vincent for Valanciunas
I think its 3 2nds with Vincent. But whatever really. JV is an obvious Laker candidate.

Wonder about building a three team deal? Going to go with Orlando
Later of 2025 Den/Orl first and Vincent to Washington
Val to LAL
2026 LAL swap and Phoenix 2nd to Orlando
Maybe another 2nd to LAL?

4 2nds to the Wizards. Vincent extra year is worth 2 2nds and Jonas is worth 2 2nds.

Except an explanation of why the Wizards would be in a rush to move JV.

A tanking team that just got Val for free in FA now trying to get several SRPs in value our of nothing.

Re: Vincent for Valanciunas
I think the expectation likely entering the season was expiring/2 2nds. I think that likely still what they hope to get and should have a good chance of getting it. Vincent's non expiring and unwanted deal likely means at least another 2nd but likely two more.

This is maybe the deal they take after not getting what they want. Vincent's extra year really hurts the value here and makes it less free as you say.

I don't think he's "nothing" to the Wizards (and, indirectly, Alex Sarr). Vincent, on the other hand, is completely dead weight.
This trade would make sense a year from now, but unless someone is offering the Wizards a late first or an expiring contract, I don't really see why they'd bother over some measly 2nds.

To me, it actually kills the deal. If you can't get an expiring for JV, you'd just wait until July. It's not like he's hurting the tank.

An expiring for JV outright is fair.
Lakers don't have expiring but they give SRPs for the extra year

depends on the expiring really? someone like tucker or melton who wont see the court is definitely no fetching JV without 2nds attahced

This is what I'm thinking. Something like Vincent and a lotto protected first for Valanciunas and three seconds.

I like Jonas behind Zu instead of playing Mo or pushing Nico.. LAC still has a couple seconds left. Seems like a good deal if that’s the asking price.
Zu can play a few less regular season minutes a night.. And the salary difference between Tucker/Jonas really makes it easy to duck the tax once LAC decide to do that..

LAC has the worse of UTAH/LAC 2030 2nd and 2031 LAC 2nd to trade only.. If i'm washington i would take vincent and 4 2nds from LAL over tucker and those 2 seconds from LAC
