Was wanting to make a random deal to use Detroit’s cap space. Didn’t use much of it.

Detroit: Toronto 2nd
Detroit: Richards and Denver 2nd

Get a backup center for this year and next for moving back in the 2nd, while hitting the salary floor.

Charlotte: Josh Green, Richards, Charlotte 2nd, Denver 2nd
Charlotte: Terry Rozier

Bring back a team favorite. Maybe try to save this season before it’s too late, make just be ready for next year?

Miami: Terry Rozier
Miami: Josh Green, Charlotte 2nd, Toronto 2nd

Miami trims 12 million in taxes this year and the same next. Adds two early projected 2nds in a draft they don’t have any picks. Would take them within 2 million of the tax, if that becomes a priority later in the season.

Im higher on Rozier than most, but this feels a little like asking the bank robbers to voluntarily come forward and return the money after they've successfully gotten away.

The Hornets have Mann and the backcourt really isn't the reason their season isn't going as well as hoped.

Yeah, I’m lower on Terry than most. So probably missed.

But if Josh Green is playing 27 mpg and Micic playing 10-15 when Mann/Ball were healthy.. I think there’s a role there for Terry.

Det is waiving centers, do they really need to pay cap space and earlier 2nd to get a guy that really should be a DNP there. Steward and Duren should get all the minutes there still to see if either is worth to continue with. Maybe as part of a Steward trade, I could see it. Hitting the salary floor is not a real reason to make a trade. Much rather take Wiseman/2nd that has been floated than pay to get Richards.

I think Charlotte fans are still celebrating getting off Rozier, do they really want to revisit the Terry experience. The Ball/Rozier combo was a strong net negative overall there in there time together. But I guess if they view Green as a bad contract they really don't want to have anymore then maybe? I doubt it though.

I think it's an interesting idea. Like most of the Heat players Rozier is having an off year but he can still play. He's in that John Collins territory of being a pretty good player but most playoff or apron teams can't afford to take on the salary.

The Hornets have way too many small guards that can't play. They had their chance the past year after the Rozier trade and all have basically failed. Mann has been ok but he's also injury prone, can't get to the FT line at all and will be a FA in the offseason. I think Charlotte actually might consider it for Green + SRPs but that would mean Miami's FO admitting they made a huge mistake (they did) in the initial Rozier deal. He has been relegated to 6th man in Miami so maybe now realizes he would need to take a back seat to Ball and Miller. Rozier is overpaid but the Hornets are way under the tax/apron lines. For a small guard he's a pretty decent defender too. He would be a stop gap and potentially a 6th man in Charlotte as the fit next to Lamelo isn't ideal, but I don't think it's a horrid idea considering the Hornets need a few more guys that can actually ball.
