He absolutely cooked tonight. albazi was slow and couldn't touch him most of the fight. I'm actually shocked one judge gave it a 49-46 lol

Fun video!

UFC YT channel has been cooking recently with huge uploads of fight replays. They put up the best highlights of the event, too. I hope they start giving fight fans the highlights we deserve...

Here's the highlights of the last event (i did nicely on my picks this week 0-for-2 in the first two, then I picked every winner thereafter!)

Great way to send off the year, a Tampa, Florida crowd chanting "Colby Sucks" even though he fights out of Miami  Plus the Doc Stoppage loss for him, I'm content.

Great year of UFC, will keep it going next year and I appreciate you stopping by to chat GoRapst.o. Cheers !

Everyone, we're back to the Lamepex this weekend - Main event Ribas v Dern and Chris Curtis v Kopylov which has bad blood between fighters.

Hopefully the venue starts to change it up more this year (Seattle planned later already but I want to see a lot mroe action outside the Apex) I do like how the sound of the gloves feel in the Apex bc there's no crowd but there's no crowd so it's really kind of a dead atmosphere except for families and some randoms.

Last year, my Tapology weekly picks hit on 63%, I'm shooting for 65% this year. Never did a full year of UFC events, so I'm pretty happy at that percentage hahah. but of course if you wanna bet there's loads of info from real fight fans that might give you a leg up. I will continue to try to post my weekly picks here bc sometimes I run into a good streak.

Last weekend's fights were really fun. It definitely delivered despite not having big-time names on the card, well maybe some real die hards knew every matchup but I had not seen some of them, was entertained for sure.

Jacobe Smith, Soriano, and Cesar Almeida's KO's were impressive, and Dern had an excellent armbar submission where she worked perfectly to secure it

The fight started so poorly for him but he dug deep and persevered. Very impressive. Robocop was looking so gassed. I kind of like Rodrigues' fight style so I picked him but Cannonier showed why he's been near the top for so long. Honestly he did save his career because he's already like 40 years old.

Hey friend, and others - UFC back in Seattle tonight 6pm Eastern prelims start and 9pm EST for main card.

Cejudo and Song are the main event -- so it's a kind of interesting matchup here. I'm picking Song but Cejudo could just wrestle this down to dec. Would be surprised to see a KO but I'll have it on in the background I think.

Other fights are a mixed bag of prospects and veterans. Rob Font, Cutelaba, Brenden Allen, Basharat, Anthony Hernandez are fighting too. No WMMA!

Henry Cejudo vs. Yadong Song
135 lbs
Brendan Allen vs. A. Hernandez
185 lbs
Rob Font vs. Jean Matsumoto
140 lbs
Jean Silva vs. M. Baghdasaryan <-- keep an eye here for Silva to win big
145 lbs
A. Menifield vs. Julius Walker <-- Walker is a can
205 lbs
Ion Cutelaba vs. Ibo Aslan <--- Aslan by KO incoming
205 lbs
Andre Fili vs. M. Costa
145 lbs
Nick Klein vs. M. Abdul-Malik <-- Malik by KO incoming
185 lbs
Ricky Simón vs. Javid Basharat <--- Basharat is gonna wrestle control all fight
135 lbs
A. Vanderford vs. N. Veretennikov
175 lbs
N. Ruziboev vs. Eric McConico
185 lbs
M. Bukauskas vs. R. Cerqueira
205 lbs

Dom Cruz was going to fight and then retire, but he just retired due to injury concerns pre-fight. Great career for Cruz though!

See you then, enjoy the bouts.

Great card - there was a streak of 7 finishes to start the night. I think it really delivered and hope Seattle // PNW gets more cards. Vancouver, Portland, and Seattle can be grouped into one big super region and they should definitely get at least 2 fight nights per year. It works, the distance isn't that far respectively from LV, and it's in the same timezone. Just low-hanging fruit right there.

Canada gets some PPVs, surely a PPV that isn't the NYC/Abu Dhabi/Miami/Int'l-FightWeek card could be at play. The crowd was electric and enthusiastic despite the lineup not being A1 star names.

Of note on this card's Main Event was Cejudo getting poked in the eye and he could not continue. But, funny thing, is that after thje 5 minutes (and he took all 5 minutes to try to improve his vision) he did continue until the end of the 3rd Rd. Well, by continuing and then the fight was called off after R3, Cejudo got a decision loss instead of a NC. Song's hand accidentally hit Cejudo during one of Henry's punches, I couldn't say it was intentional for a DQ.

It was unfortunate but Song was winning on my card all 3rds, maybe it Cejudo won R2, but overall that one weird moment ended the night. Everything before that was pretty solid and gets good marks from me.
Cheers

Song DID say they will run it back. Which they should imo, regardless.

Dana wasn't sold on it... I feel like Song was winning, and I wouldn't mind seeing it again. Honestly Cejudo could fight other more profitable matchups, he's still a relatively known commodity in the US for MMA fans. I think they should move Song to an international fight night for the CN market and Cejudo a Cali card or something. Still a good fight to run back because it seemed close, but we know Dana is a little b about thing like this.

ALSO this weekend we have an APEX card which you know I don't like. I do like how you can hear the punches and kicks and coaches flipping out yelling directions easier, but I really like the crowd in attendence, it just feels better and mroe sport-y. I don't even know much about this card because this week has been a long one for me, but it does start in like 3 hours so be prepared!

Kape v Almabayev main event, and a bunch of random nonsense below.

I didn't makea thread for UFC 313 where Poatan lost to Ankalaev, was out of town that weekend lol

Anyways, quick recap of that event -- Dan Hooker got injured so Gaethje and late-replacement Fiziev had a great co-main event, Justin won by DEC. Ankalaev I felt won 3 of 5 rounds vs Pereira but was a bit perplexed why Pereira didn't engage more. Gave me Izzy v Strickland vibes where Izzy just looked off, especially after a heavy run of fights. Izzy was 50-45'd there but Poatan looked pretty passive and didn't really seem to get control of the fight on his terms.

KO of the year candidate with Mauricio Ruffy v King Green at 313 btw.

We've had the Vettori v Dolidze 2 card (Dolidze W Dec) since then. Roman had a good fight and was engaging heavily, won convincingly. this card delivered a lot of finishes which was kind of surprising to me, but there's some great highlights to check otu if you got time for the YT channel.

NOW we have another card in England this weekend featuring Leon Edwards and Brady, plus some other decent British or European fighters. Prelims are on early in the day for me, 1PM eastern/10AM pacific, and the main card should be around 4PM eastern and 1 Pacific time. I'm very interested in LHW Blachowicz v Ulberg as the co-main event, so that's the one im keeping an eye on, but it should be a solid card for sure.
Cheers
