Lakers get Sharpe
Nets get JHS, Hayes, LAL27SRP
Nets buy out Melton and have roster spot open.
JHS could have an opportunity to develop as the Nets don't have anyone else to run PG except Simmons.
Lakers get a backup C and open a roster spot for a buyout candidate.

think LAL owes another 2nd here. JHS is worthless/JAG with his option declined

Re: Lakers-Nets
What is the upside with Day'Ron Sharpe over Hayes? It feels like him and Hayes are in the same caliber of young back up bigs. I could be wrong. Any Nets fans can give me a solid assessment of him?

This is the kind of trash for trash exchanges we will probably see during the trade deadline.

Sharpe is an elite rebounder. I can't emphasize enough how great he is at rebounding. He's among the best in the league in rebounds per minute. He's also been working and showing improvement on extending his shooting range out to the 3 point line as well. On the flip side, he's incredibly foul prone and has had difficulty staying on the floor.

Yeah ok.
Though I do think JHS is a good option to be re-signed by the team that has him for cheap.

So...he's your prototypical backup big? Probably has a good single school that works in the NBA, but isn't good enough to be a starter.

He’s young and inexperienced
I actually prefer him to Clax and especially when you factor in the contract

If Sharpe and Clowney both get better Clax could be the odd man out in the end.
I could see the Nets letting Sharpe go in part of a larger deal including a young prospect or a first rounder coming back.
Otherwise it would seem that they would be selling low on a player who started the season injured.

Re: Lakers-Nets
I agree. I do not think the Nets Front Office is dumb enough to sell this low on a player that might be key to their team in the future. This is essentially two players they will cut and a 2nd round pick for a much higher potential value in a player they have no seen enough of yet to make a decision. This does not make sense for BK.
