For Middleton's part that's a move that could extend his career 1-2 more years and get him out of pressure coming back earlier when injured. He still doesn't lose his high minutes when healthy and of course still closes games.

Lillard (36)/Green (12)
Thomas (28)/Trent (16)/Green (4)
Jackson (16)/Middleton (32)
Giannis (36)/Bobby (12)
Lopez (32)/Bobby (16)

That's what I am thinking in terms of minutes distribution, which is what Doc already does with Thomas (or someone else in the same age) taking Prince's minutes. You then have Lillard/Middleton/Giannis closing the games at all times with whoever of the rest fits better for the situation.

If Thomas could be had for that little then I hope Horst would pull the trigger. I would not start Thomas with Dame though. He would come off the bench and he would likely make Portis expendable. If you're trading for Thomas you are trading for a guy who needs the ball in his hands and you would not want Portis taking touches from him.

We really need to sign Dairy Bird an extension. 3/30 looks good for both sides. We need to lock him up before he skyrockets his value.

Is it really headline worthy when teams put dudes on the trade block that fell out of their rotation?

Warriors looking for a star, Heat make Jimmy Butler available, Kings make Huerter and Lyles available.. wtf?

I'd take Reed if he'd sign. There are guys I think it'd be ok to cut.

Clear example of our athleticism deficit.

Even if we keep Bobby and Brook we need someone that can steal some of their minutes towards these ends.

Prince's problems on the boards also make me wonder how effective playing him as a small ball 4 will be for us too.

Didn’t we just give up a NBA record of most amount of transition baskets to Atlanta when they beat us in Milwaukee like 2 weeks ago? I swear I seen something that we were the 1st team to win the 3pt battle and lose by double digits in the same game. Or something like that anyways. So is it really prioritizing checking back on D? Sure doesn’t seem that way…. I mean come on now, how many negative statistics have to pull out their dicks and slap you in the face before you get sick of always having a black eye and a mushroom stamp on your cheek?

Reed was 12th in the NBA in o-board % last yr & can get back in transition. We can get him for free. He's not great overall, but his ng'ed deal is partly why he's been passed around. First it helped Philly to clear space to sign Paul George. He went to the Pistons cuz the only team who has cap space (he was blocked by Duren & Stewart, who are both younger so fit Detroit's plan). Now he was offloaded to help the Pistons make $20m from other teams' luxury tax & to absorb even more contracts for picks at the deadline.

Essentially a Reed for Beauchamp swap is a no-brainer, if Bball Paul is amenable. Then the Bucks could flip Bobby for another backcourt creator or a big wing. Solve a lot of our remaining issues. Incidentally, Terence Davis is back and looks good for the Herd. Does he suffice for additional backcourt creator? If so, that's another another issue we can solve for free. Just focus on wing.

Bobi Klintman has also returned from injury recently so he will get detroits third big man minutes now that they cut Reed. Curious how he feels about Doc

Good call. Doc played him ~1200 minutes over three years. He probably feels like there have to be better opportunities. Kind of hard to imagine Doc lobbying for him, too.

The main problem is getting back on defense and the Bucks have not prioritized that. That's much more important than offensive rebounding.

Under Bud, the Bucks were one of the best defensive rebounding teams and one of the worst offensive rebounding teams. But the result was that they were one of the best teams in limiting fast breaks.

I do think if KM returns to the starting lineup and replaces Prince, the rebounding numbers will improve.

By being terrible at offensive rebounding, opponents need to dedicate less players to the defensive glass, which allows them to leak out early.

We would improve our transition defense be getting to more offense rebounds.

Bobby Marks:

Portis has a $12.6 million salary this season, a $13.4 million player option for 2025-26 and is currently eligible to sign a four-year, $81 million extension.

Portis is not a novice to seeing his name in trade rumors.

Sources confirmed to ESPN that Milwaukee had a deal in place last season to send Portis to Dallas for Grant Williams. The Bucks eventually passed and Williams was sent to the Charlotte Hornets for PJ Washington.

Because Milwaukee is limited in tradable contracts and draft assets (it can trade only its 2031 first-round pick), expect Portis' name to resurface again.

Knows the system though and I think he would be a good fit next to Portis off the bench. Could really solidify the rotation defensively, allow us to rest Giannis (and Brook) more and not play Khris at PF (or Prince).
