Wasn't the guy who choked in the playoffs our best player at one point? It happens.

Not sure who you’re referring to. Any specific names?

Not trying to get suspended around these parts. You know who. Unless Derrick Rose was the best player on that team, which I think we both disagree with.

Yeah I don’t know who you’re talking about. Gonna have to be more specific.

Paolo is Orlando's most talented player but Franz is their best all-around player and a by a pretty comfortable margin.

For all his talent as a creator, Banchero's a pretty mediocre defender, and a fairly inefficient high-volume scorer at this stage. Whereas Franz is an elite defender and a moderately efficient scorer.

It's not a knock against Paolo - he's young and he has a high ceiling. But there's no doubt Franz is better currently. The Magic's play without Paolo is reflective of this.

We've only beaten 5 'good' teams all season:

Pacers
Heat
Bucks
Suns
Nuggets

The Nuggets was our last good win. We've spent weeks playing the Hornets, Pistons and hobbled Magic since then.

I mean if you take a step back and look at it without rose-colored glasses you see a team struggling to find an identity at the moment.

This is getting out of hand around here. We are 16-10 and the three seed. We have an historic level offense so far. We played 23 games shorthanded. All of this after adding 10 new players to the roster and 3.75 (OG barely played 1/4 of the season last year) new starters. We can only play the teams on our schedule!! The same teams EVERYONE else plays. WTF are we doing here?

We have the 8th best record in the league and the 6th best net rating. People are acting like we suck? WTF are we actually trying to do here? Has all objective discussion left the building?

Have we played as well as BOS(CHAMPS) or CLE/OKC? No. They have been together for years. Do we have flaws/things to improve? Yes. See above.

This is getting to be ridiculous. Just a bunch of trolling and BS swamping the board. It's really becoming like Twitter/Reddit in here.

franz was one of their worst players in the playoffs. You can’t be the best player on a team if you choke when it really matters. And we blew out Orlando by 30 with just franz

Wouldn’t even count the pacers cause they have a losing record, suns didn’t have KD and Beal. But yeah, this team has no identity and doesn’t feel like a contender at all. I mean we struggled to beat Orlando last night who didn’t have both of their best players. Not sure how people are acting like this is a championship level contender.

Paolo played better in the playoffs but judging players by one playoff series, let alone off one game against us, is really not the way to go.

Not to mention Franz wasn't 100%, just like Randle wasn't 100% in the Miami series. This obviously affects performance.

The Magic played better without Paolo this season because their defense is better without him, and they don't miss his inefficient scoring this much.

He's a very talented player though and I hope he keeps improving his game. I just don't think him returning will make Orlando much better than the Franz-only version of them. He doesn't provide much impact. He might in the future.

Let's ignore the fact that ORL was the three seed with the best defense in the conference this year without Paolo and, the fact that we annihilated them 5 games ago with Wagner in order to make this arguments.

I thought you were ignoring me? Still quoting me cause I’m rent free in your head huh

I quoted Fury. DUH! You just make ridiculous posts that are FOS all day every single day. I hate having to quote you know but, just to correct the record on yet another one of your lies. FOH

I didn’t feel like it was that much of a struggle honestly. Their last lead of the game was 24-22 coming out of the first quarter. We led the entire 2nd half kept them at arms length and put it on cruise control. Meanwhile the bucks who are in the nba cup final had a much harder time with this same team than we did. And they were at home not on the road where they hadn’t lost a game. Not to say they’re great competition or anything but it wasn’t really that close

Important distinction that this is not a derailment to a Randle argument.

I have had 3-5 that I can remember over the 12 years I have been posting here regularly. Two of them were misunderstandings that I appealed and one of those was actually reversed while one was shortened. I was suspended twice for like a week each. Those were not misunderstandings though.

Hey man if a 16-10 team is still "struggling to find an identity" then I can't wait to see the record when they do find this hypothetical "identity"!
