Portis has a $12.6 million salary this season, a $13.4 million player option for 2025-26 and is currently eligible to sign a four-year, $81 million extension.

Portis is not a novice to seeing his name in trade rumors.

Sources confirmed to ESPN that Milwaukee had a deal in place last season to send Portis to Dallas for Grant Williams. The Bucks eventually passed
and Williams was sent to the Charlotte Hornets for PJ Washington.

Because Milwaukee is limited in tradable contracts and draft assets (it can trade only its 2031 first-round pick), expect Portis' name to resurface again.

So we're to believe anonymous sources that there was a ridiculous deal in place and then the Bucks rejected the deal they put together? Click bait from Bobby Marks.

I have sources that confirm there was no deal. Prove me wrong.

Sure seems like the Bucks seriously considered trading Bobby to Dallas.

The way Bobby Marks wrote it was weird saying "Grant Williams was sent to the Charlotte Hornets for PJ Washington" when that first round pick was critical, but either way his point looks to me like the Bucks could have made the same deal and passed.

Main question for today is how highly the Bucks value Bobby.

Agreed that we were likely getting a 1st too. Only question is if we had to throw in a 2nd like Charlotte did.

My guess was this was turned down after Herb Jones and Dejounte were pulled off the market.

I wish Eubanks made a little less. Can’t see any reason for Utah to hold onto him.

Would a 2nd be enough for them to swap Pat for him?

Why would he resign there? Seems like a bunch of teams are looking for center depth. Why go back to the team that plays scrub Beef Stew ahead of him?

That's shrewd. Didn't they want to poach Horst as GM?

I understand it for the Pistons. Waiving him only meant they could have lived w/out him. Reupping w/ him shows he was more than good enough for their roster, which makes him a rotation player for ours given our lack of depth & athletic big need.

I get it less for Reed given the big situation hasn't changed, he had alternatives & the insult of a pay-cut. It must have been there was a handshake deal they'd pay him more next offseason when the circumstances changed &/or he didn't want to move again.

Sucks for us. Guess we need to move on to other options that actually cost something.

I don't think it's any big secret Bobby is available.

Yup, the real question is, who's an upgrade? There just isn't anyone on the rebuilding teams that's any good, or their contacts are too big.

I still think Aldama is going to be available. He only played 19 minutes last night with Edey back. I'm probably wrong but I can hope for the best.
