I assume they move on from Poeltl this year while his value is at its peak. Kaminsky can come in and be passable while we get losses. He can get tuned up on the 905 in the meantime.

Losing with Poeltl playing makes no sense. Why waste his talents here on a team that will be 20 games under .500? I am just hoping for a first back and the damage is somewhat undone from the original trade.

I think the more likely scenario is they move on from Fernando if they chose to sign Frank.

I'm hoping Dalek is right but only if he goes to the Knicks

Knicks could do it, but that would be a big investment for them given how much they already pay for KAT.

I still think GSW makes the most sense as he fits their style of play and Poeltl would really solidify them in a huge position of need.

No idea why the Knicks would be the target for our franchise. They have very little, to nothing to offer in a trade. They’re near the bottom of the list for trade partners.

I would hope that he ends up on a team that’s on the cusp of a Playoff appearance that’s willing to trade their 1st (period) ie/ Spurs who wanted to bring him back too. Then hope & pray they miss it for whatever reason and that we draft another steal in the lottery. Then next season hopefully they make it for Yak’s sake and that he’s out West so we don’t have to feel bad for wanting to beat whatever team he ended up on.

I don't know the odds of anything but would Mitchell Robinson make any sense for Raps in lieu of picks? I recall Darko was impressed with him last winter
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

Why else sign him?

Because the 905 has been really bad.

Or....

...you keep your starting level C and re-sign him so you don't needlessly create a hole for a "might be" on a few years.

They will be trying to win next year. Keeping and extending Yak makes the most sense by far.

They will still be very bad, even with him.

What are we winning with Jak next year? The prize of being 2 games above .500? A 9th seed so we can lose in the play-in? Even if we get Flagg this team isn't changing its sad trajectory in a season.

We need to hit on the 2026 draft to really make some headway because this team cannot compete offensively with the rest of the league, and Darko is not a winning coach, nor can Scottie be your cornerstone. He is not even singular enough to beat Brooklyn without Dennis Schroeder.

Again...you keep Yak to re-sign him so you don't create a hole you just have to fill right after opening it. Locking up a good starting C for the next 3-5 is a good thing.

Or do you forget, Masai had to go out and add a 34 year old Gasol tintry and win? Just keep Yak and look to build up the C depth behind him and hopefully in time, replace him naturally when they become better.

And drawing any conclusion on Barnes using a 1 game sample size coming off an injury is dumb and you know it's dumb.
