Not to mention Franz wasn't 100%, just like Randle wasn't 100% in the Miami series. This obviously affects performance.

The Magic played better without Paolo this season because their defense is better without him, and they don't miss his inefficient scoring this much.

He's a very talented player though and I hope he keeps improving his game. I just don't think him returning will make Orlando much better than the Franz-only version of them. He doesn't provide much impact. He might in the future.

Important distinction that this is not a derailment to a Randle argument.

Identity is such a weak argument. We have one. It's an historic level offense that needs to tighten up the defense. Which we have been doing gradually.

All the talk about playing teams without their "best players" is a joke. Every other team in the league plays those same teams. Those teams still have winning records BTW. Another fact that gets ignored. We have been playing 6.5-7 man rotations ALL year until we got our bench players back from various injuries AND we are still missing Mitch. Yet here we are at 16-10 and the 3 seed being talked about as if we are PHI or WAS. It's really getting old.

I have had 3-5 that I can remember over the 12 years I have been posting here regularly. Two of them were misunderstandings that I appealed and one of those was actually reversed while one was shortened. I was suspended twice for like a week each. Those were not misunderstandings though.

I think I have two but with a decent interval in between

I got suspended for wanting the Knicks to trade KP during his rookie season.

If only the Knicks could play a healthy Cavs, Thunder, Mavs or Celtics team for 82 games straight, then we'd really know if they're a good team or not, and that useless 16-10 record could actually count in the standings!!!!!

But nooooo..... instead, the Knicks have to play whatever teams the NBA put on their schedule!! Woe is me!!

Nobody going to say it so I will. Ever since we tried to get Bridges going, Kat rebounding, steals, blocks and assist numbers went way up. While his scoring went down, Mikals went up.

For all his talent as a creator, Banchero's a pretty mediocre defender, and a fairly inefficient high-volume scorer at this stage. Whereas Franz is an elite defender and a moderately efficient scorer.

It's not a knock against Paolo - he's young and he has a high ceiling. But there's no doubt Franz is better currently. The Magic's play without Paolo is reflective of this.

franz was one of their worst players in the playoffs. You can’t be the best player on a team if you choke when it really matters. And we blew out Orlando by 30 with just franz

Franz didn't need to get surgery on his ankle though, so i don't buy that.

I didn't see any impact from Franz when we blew them out by 30  this game was actually much closer without him!

the thing with thibs is that once u gain his trust, he lets u freelance.

OG basically does whatever he wants on defense, especially when he decides to help. notice how thibs never gets angry when og over helps from the corner 3 spot.

same thing with hart, who constantly over helps and when he has to fly back out and recover he gets attacked off the dribble. thibs never gets angry

thats kinda what a lot of fans only see when they say "hart has been bad on defense this year"

its really him just over-helping constantly and sometimes being in a really bad position when he has to fly back out to his man. but thibs understands u cant over manage or micro manage his players like that. and you have to understand that even when hart produces the bad defensive play, he still has many positive plays that offset it.
