Same. Feels a bit like landing Mordecai and Locke. This is a situation where if you could combine these two nil packages and get Mendoza, you’d be much better off just doing that and relying on internal development for depth.
I think it's important to remember that it takes two to make a deal work.

Mendoza feels like a lock to go to Miami. He's from Miami, they just turned Cam Ward into a Heisman finalist and first round pick, and they'll have a need at QB.

No doubt. This may be the best we can do, in which case, I’ll gladly take it

3 new DL & a new edge rusher. Total overhaul in the Defensive trench

Dope. QB room is light years better than it was this season.

Winning the starting job as a freshman is pretty impressive though. Not saying SDSU is a good team or anything but still.

Ok, dope indeed. This was a heck of a day for portal news and I'm feeling good about it.

Not sure how to feel about Billy Edwards. Seems like he started hot and was pretty bad the 2nd half. But also had a really bad supporting cast. Hopefully he's decent

I've watched as many throws as I could of him since this weekend. He's got a little Locke in him where he isn't taking enough off of the short and intermediate throws, but it's not as bad.

But Edwards is a big upgrade over Locke and TVD everywhere else. Quick release, good in the pocket, athletic enough to be a threat to pull it down and run. Much better accuracy. Like I said earlier, on play alone he was one of the best transfers available. As a one year stop-gap to Mettauer or Smith, he's perfect.

O'Neal is a nice backup.

Obviously smaller school competition but he earned good PFF grades as a redshirt freshman this year.

Meh on the QBs. They could turn out to be a big improvement, but I won't believe it until I see it.

I'm not sure how much I believe in the Grimes hire, which is coloring my reaction to these transfers. Ultimately, everything depends on whether he's actually a good OC.

I wanna get excited about these transfers. I think Fickell & Co. have done fairly well in the portal. But next years schedule is so brutal that I'm just hoping they find a way to 6 wins

It sucks, with the injuries + need for a refresh of talent and some insane schedules, if it's gonna work it is a rocky road to make it to year 4 :-? with hopefully upgraded overall talent and a schedule they can maybe navigate.

I really don’t care about next seasons record, I’m more interested in signs of improvement across the board.
