AS long as we are throwing out Zion deals . . . .

Post#1 » by penbeast0 » Tue Dec 17, 2024 1:16 pm

Washington sends JV (team friendly contract) to New Orleans with Kuzma (3 years descending deal) and Poole (actually playing well this year though still overpayed).

New Orleans moves on from Zion Williamson and CJ McCollum.

Washington takes the chance on Zion, a genuine needle mover if he's ever healthy but also highly paid for the next 4 years. They take CJ as part of the cost.

New Orleans builds around Ingram, Murphy and Herb, getting a trio of offensive weapons for Zion who just has not delivered on his promise. This gives them better depth, flexibility, and more youth with Poole taking CJ's spot, Kuzma taking Zion's, and JV coming back to give them the depth at center they want.

Tough to justify taking back Poole and Kuzma as the return for Zion - even with CJ in the deal. There just has to be a less bad option for the Pels.

CJM>>Poole they should be taken out
JV and Kuzma for Zion is still a bad deal, even if they are routed elsewhere for 2nds/1st...

As a Pels fan, I’d just keep Zion if that’s the return for him. I’d actually rather let him just walk than trade him for Poole/Kuzma.

Feels like NOP turns down this offer for Ingram and CJM. But it seems closer to an Ingram offer.

This is beyond absurd of an offer. The only guy that has value on the Washington side is JV, who NO already had and didnt mind losing.

NOLA probably would rather cut Zion than take on Poole lol
