So not so much original, but I still like it. And wiretap made me want to do a Zach trade.
SAS: Collins, Tre Jones, and either of Wesley/Branham (SAS choice)
SAS: McCollum and Theis
SAS spends some money to get a scoring guard and a cheap low minute backup five. Salaries require the prospect inclusion, but SAS should be willing to move one of the two?
Chicago: Zach
Chicago: Ingram and Tre Jones
Now that Ingram is hurt… Chicago sets up the tank this season. Maybe Ingram is resigned and plays with either Patrick or Matas and some minutes with both, giving the Bulls a younger “star” or maybe they just save a lot of money. Either way. They tank this season. And can decide if they want to go for play in with 2025 draft pick, Coby, Ingram, Matas, Ayo or if they want to trade Coby and tank again next year.
NOP: Ingram, McCollum, Theis
NOP: LaVine, Collins, and either of Wesley/Branham (SAS choice)
NOP puts DJM and Zach together for the fans. Collins comes in to split center minutes with Missi as a good fit with Zion. Not enough to stop a tank if the team smartly commits to it this season, but does set up the roster for next season and the next few.
Throw in 2nds to your team? Or no fixing it?

i would just stick with SAS deal and pass on Zach if i was NOP. I think they can still get a late 1st and expiring for Ingram/would trade ingram elsewhere for futures instead of Zach

I am not sure what value Ingram still has. Clearly I wasn’t assigning much value with Ingram/LaVine being a base of a trade.
I do think Murray/Zach/Trey/Alvarado works realy well together as the main guard (some forward) minutes if they were trying to compete at some level next year.
Which I think their front office has to plan to do.

IF the Bulls jump on the tank vehicle they like Ingram injured and as an expiring contract to create cap space next summer, when possibly they've moved Vucevic for the same. Bad enough to keep their top 10 2025 pick. If that's their plan they don't want to resign Ingram because he's no kind of key to a quick rebuild. They likely look to look good in two years when Williams gets a couple of years at the 3, Giddey gets a new deal, White resigns, there's a decision made on Dosunmu, Matas grows into a full time role. Plus that top 10 pick. They don't have to rely on FAs coming in but trading for payers into that cap space gives them more options

Yeah, no idea if Chicago would pay Ingram or not. Would depend if they just wanted this year tank or can commit to a multiple year tank.
Or maybe Ingram and Chicago do a two year deal versus a long deal, giving him closer to his max..
But clearing Zach’s salary, bringing in a slightly younger forward versus a guard playing forward if they choose to go back for play-in next year.. felt like a win

Sounds like they are open to dealing Zion too/may be leaning towards a reset though

I know there’s noise, but to me if Realgm is close on Zion’s value.. you just keep going with him.

Re: Zachs to Murray, CJM to SAS, Ingram to Chi
I've been thinking of sending BI to Chi, but keeping Lavine. I really don't think our FO wants to lose, so might as well roll the dice on a low level all star like Ingram and see what happens.
Thing is, I would want to keep Ball too, if possible. He's playing great and is an awesome young vet/swiss army knife player off our bench
Giddy/CWhite/JCarter/Duarte for BI (who has to waive his trade kicker).
I know, this probably pushes Chi into the lux tax and would force NO to cut Duarte and maybe Carter
But, this Bulls lineup is interesting to me (not a contender, but could be good)
Ayo/Ball
Lavine/Ball/THT
BI/Matas/DTerry
PWill/Phillips/Craig
Vuc/Smith
NO adds White to Murry and McCollum and takes a look at Giddy as a possible bench piece or point forward type

I'm still not sure it makes much sense for the Spurs.
