OKC/NO - Hartenstein/Zion Swap
OKC Trades
I. Hartenstein
2025 Philly 1st Round Pick
2025 Miami 1st Round Pick
2026 OKC 1st Round Pick
NO Trades
Z. Williamson
OKC goes all in on a championship roster. I believe a motivated Zion on a contender will get pack to Peak Zion and elevate OKC to the best team in the league.
NO gets 3 1st round draft picks and a very solid center in Hartenstein. NO can finally move past Zion and start a proper rebuild.

Re: OKC/NO - Hartenstein/Zion Swap
Not sure why OKC would ever consider this and are we sure Zion has more value than Hartenstein as we currently stand?
Those picks seem completely unnecessary.

I want to take it a step further. OKC needs to RECEIVE a pick to trade a player like IH for Zion. Zion is just to injury prone and ball dominant to be an easy fit with OKC.

I agree with this.
Hartenstein would put up Wilt numbers in NOP right now

This makes OKC worse on paper I think. Just no chance they get rid of a guy who has been perfect plus a bunch of assets to take a gamble on Zion when they are already the best team in the conference.
Total non-starter I would think

Yeah. The kind of team that needs to take a chance on Zion is a fringe contender or mid-lotto team that doesn't have another avenue to make a big leap forward. Not a team that's already one of the top 2-3 contenders.

Small sample size, but I thought I read that IH is posting some of the best +/- numbers in the NBA on OKC. I can't imagine he's available.

Simply put OKC just doesn't need to take this risk. Period.

Not sure why OKC would pay that much for the privilege of watching ZW smash corndogs on the bench in street clothes.

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

Also Zion takes the ball out of SGA’s hands and that is not a winning proposition for the Thunder. OKC is best with SGA on ball and creating for others.

Next to 0% chance.
OKC not going to trade away our best and biggest free agency signing for a more than questionable fit on the roster that might not even get onto the court cause of injuries.
There’s upgrade out there to IH but I don’t see that as an available or possible trade this season.

Re: OKC/NO - Hartenstein/Zion Swap
Obviously, if Zion plays, and if he's healthy, and if he's motivated/in form, and if, and if, and if... then Zion is a better player than Hartenstein. But there are too many ifs, and this is just a bad idea to target Zion (who also ruins OKC's ability to extend Chet and Jalen Williams).
Cheers

Re: OKC/NO - Hartenstein/Zion Swap
From the culture fit to the fit on the floor there isnt a chance OKC goes for Zion.
iHart has been incredible for them so far. Small sample size but he is posting near .200 WS/48 and a DBPM of 2.6. He is a truly elite defender whos passing chops fit in OKC like a glove.
Zion isnt a OKC guy.

Well. No point in continuing to beat this horse, it’s quite dead. Agree with the thread.
Do think there’s a deal like this out there. I just don’t think it’s with OKC.
