There's your 8-man rotation for the playoffs. Occasional spot mins for Precious and Shamet.
We really don't know yet if Mitch and KAT will work well together. Also, will KAT remain as effective on offense if he is alongside Mitch?
KAT is having a historic season in large part because we are running 5-out.
I don't know. I think they can work fine next to each other compared to how we looked in the past. Not saying we will be a 5-out offense but, we really never had enough shooting to spread the floor before this season. Randle and RJ were inefficient and they both needed to operate in the same areas. Their shooting was inconsistent and having Mitch down low really clogged the paint for everyone as a result.
With KAT being a 40-42% 3pt shooter it opens things up. Not saying we should start Mitch next to KAT but, for the few minutes a game they will have to share the court it shouldn't really be an issue. Especially when we have other good 3pt shooters to go with them.
On the other side of the ball we should be even tougher because we will have better length/defense compared to the past as well. I could see a rotation of Deuce/Mikal(Hart)/OG/KAT/Mitch being a real problem when we need stops without sacrificing much if anything on the other end.
This team has more high IQ players now too. A fully healthy team should be really versatile for matchups and situational play. We can mix and match up and down the roster whenever we need to.
I'm really excited again seeing players making their way back to the court. Shamet/Precious/Mitch should really open things up for us. Just a matter of getting the chemistry to click after that. Having the depth to help keep guys fresh should really pay dividends for us.
