Re: NBA Trade Thread #11
Have seen this deal proposed on several sites, one site said Bulls are considering it: Zion Williamson, Jeremiah Robinson Earl for Nikola Vucevic, Patrick Williams, 2025 Portland first, 2027 Chicago first. Saying the Bulls are considering it suggests it's been offered to them, but no way to verify.

Saw an offer on several sites that seems to be gaining traction, one said the Bulls are considering it: Zion Williamson and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl for Nikola Vucevic, Patrick Williams, 2025 Portland 1st, 2027 Bulls 1st. Not sure if it's an actual offer the Bulls are considering or just a trade proposal people are reposting. My bad for the double post.

Regardless of my views, seems like the sort of deal that AK would be all over, if NO proposed it.

Looks like these are blogger trade idea and not rooted to any reporting. I agree with Sco, though, that I could see AK inquiring about this sort of thing.

Yeah, not putting much stock in it, it's a variation of a trade recently proposed in here. Question is, is Zion worth it regardless of the cost? Don't know if the cost is the biggest issue, the three years on his contract could leave us with another Lonzo situation for years. Or he could turn it around and be our franchise piece for the next 8-10 years.

Based on a Lavine/MPJ rumor think I have come up with a nice 3 way trade
Bulls trade - Lavine Bulls get - Ingram/Theis
Nuggets trade - MPJ/ Saric Nuggets get - Lavine
Pelicans trade - Ingram/Theis Pelicans get- MPJ/ Saric
Bulls get Ingram/Theis who are both expiring contracts that frees up 38m in cap space this summer along with 20m for Ball
frees up 58m to help start the rebuild. Bulls either let Ingram walk or help him with a sign and trade to get an asset in the summer.
Nuggets get another deadeye shooter in Lavine who will look great playing off Jokic as he can hit 3s and create his own shot. If
Murray can return to form the Nuggets will be hard to stop with Murray/Lavine playing off Jokic and solid role players in Gordon/Braun.
Pelicans get a younger 3 pt shooter to spread the floor for Zion who is locked in for a few years at a solid price.

Think only way they'd consider it is if they plan to re-sign Ingram. Otherwise they're trading Zach for basically expirings, and I think they want more than that. And Matas and Pat seems somewhat similar to Ingram in potential skillset and where they'd play, don't know if you'd want to play the three together.

Yeah, my worry is it’s something like 80% likely he’s never your franchise guy due to injuries.

I like the trade (some will argue about not getting any 1sts back), but it needs to be adjusted slightly, because the Nuggets are over the apron so they can't take back more money than they send out.
Here to argue about nonsensical things and suck away your joy.

Honestly, if we hadn't just spent the last three years dealing with Ball's contract and Lavine's injuries, think we'd be more receptive. No, I wouldn't put my eggs in a Zion basket, even at relatively low cost, at this point. As mad as we've been about Ball and Lavine's injuries, imagine the how the Pelicans fans must argue about Zion. Know they have to be FRUSTRATED, with a large portion wanting him traded.

Bulls def have been looking for expiring money to help open cap room and reset the team moving forward.
The focus should be cap space/playing the young guys/draft picks

ESPN trade machine has been pretty bad for a while.

Best I can tell, Trade Machine works for normal salary matching rules, but does not take into account the effect of aprons. Just a hunch based on screwing around with it.

By no means are fanspo or spotrac perfect, but those are my go-to sites as they usually have better information (for the most part).
I was once able to successfully trade Jayson Tatum for Julian Phillips on the ESPN machine (they seemed to have fixed that now).

Uhh, if we change it back, can we just go ahead and trade Phillips for Tatum?

Zion’s too hurt to trade for but let’s not forget about his conversation with that Bulls staffer that time.
