Re: Where can Lavine thrive ?
I think Orl should roll the dice
Send KCP somewhere for an expiring deal to Chi (LAL-DLo, Det-Hardaway)
Include Howard and Harris and the $ is close
Suggs/Anthony
Lavine/Black
Franz/De Silva
Paolo/Isaac
Carter/Wagner/Goga
That's a contender
Bulls add Howard and cut a ton of future $. MAYBE Chi gets the Den pick and Orl gets the Port pick

The 2 stars on the Magic are 22 and 23. It's still too early to make all in moves.pipfan wrote:I think Orl should roll the dice

Re: Where can Lavine thrive ?
I would say that in EuroLeague he would have been a revelation but then i instantly thought that with his defense he would have become a meme.
PS. Please someone stop the Nuggets from ruining Jokic career if they acquire him. Jokic defense is not his best card but if you get him Lavine he will become the 2nd best defender on the starting unit after Gordon. Jesus Denver.

Re: Where can Lavine thrive ?
LaVine may be the most underrated and misunderstood player in the NBA. Consummate professional, insane work ethic, stays out of trouble off the court, and is extremely efficient. He's had the bad luck of being perpetually on poorly constructed teams. I've always felt like he would look like a HOF talent on the Warriors. Their style is perfect for him. I also think he'd look amazing in Denver.

How is it an 'all in' move? They give up practically nothing and take a chance on a high volume 3 point shooter with elite efficiency. Zach only has 2 and a half years of his salary left so they give this team a shot for 3 playoff runs.
If it doesn't work then they retool with Paolo & Wagner at 24 & 25 years old. They still retain all of their future draft picks and other young assets for a future move.

I think Lavine would be picture perfect next to LeBron and AD on the Lakers team. I personally think they would the best team in the West with that move and possibly favorite to win it all.
And that's why Lakers won't make the trade.

I mean you have 2 stars with the right trade could win a championship.
I like the idea of Jimmy Butler moreso than Lavine. Good vet who can still play the 3rd fiddle role and he got that DAWG in em!
I was shocked Paul George chose Philly over Orlando. I thought that was a better situation given his age. I trust Pablo more than Embiid moving forward.

Champ the Lakers championship window has closed. Lebron is declining right before our eyes. He's load managing and the season just started.

Only Davis is a solid defender out of those 3 players. Reaves is your other starter in the backcourt and he is not a good defender. Thats a pretty bad defensive team and there is only 1 basketball on the court between James, Davis, and Lavine meaning nobody else is going to get any shots. Reaves would really suffer playing with Lavine.

I feel zach would absolutely thrive next to curry. Not that a lot of guys wouldn’t thrive next to curry as well but zach plus curry’s gravity would really open up his game. If rumors are true than warriors had a chance to trade for zach but fell for the narrative and opted to look another direction.

As a 3rd option this dude might be a missing piece for a contender.
He's still got juice even after the injuries.

As a magic fan, I wholeheartedly agree your assessment. What you're proposing the magic give up is hardly an 'all in' move. I'm not sure it's the direction I would go in but it absolutely is worth looking into if there aren't better options out there.

I think what rob meant in " all in move" is that with Paolo and Franx max plus Suggs extension, bringing in Zachs salary is an " all in move" because you cant do anything else with the 2nd apron.

meh, for a season. Paolo's max would kick in in the last year of LaVine's contract.

I suggest watching the Bos-Bulls game. It was a very good game for Lavine, but not that crazy. His D is mostly solid, and his ability to score was awesome. Orl could REALLY use that-how much better is KCP's defense than Lavine's? No reason not to go for it now, and have one costly season before Lavine's deal expires. A trip to the ECF would be worth it, I'd think

He would be a perfect scapegoat for them losing in the play-in, yes.

Re: Where can Lavine thrive ?
Lavine and Gordon, two of the violent finishers in the game, on the same team with Jokic dishing out assists? They can make the NBA watchable again! If this trade does happen, I think Murray shifts to the third option, No way Denver lets Lavine stand on the perimeter and take threes all game.

I don't think they'd value having Lavine over Wagner as the needle-mover some people may see it as. It could be a re-balancing of the roster if they make that trade, and even then, I'm not sure the Bulls do it mainly because Buzelis is looking an awful lot like Wagner-lite.

Oooh I like that idea! Do you guys want Williams too?

(I know you mean they couldn't afford both, so let's just make it easy for both teams!)
