Nope.
But yeah, it's pretty much a low-risk, moderate-reward move. They're better off trying this than going for some of the better relievers on the market this year, who are all looking for big money (Gagne) or multi-year deals (Vizcaino, Linebrink, etc.). Middle relievers are fickle year-to-year producers as a group so it's always a losing situation to be looking for them when the market is favoring free agents. If we're lucky, Hawkins is an OK option to eat up innings. If not, off the plank he goes.
