we have the worst youngsters in the league
To become a useful NBA player you need to be at least 1 of the 3:
1. good defender
2. good shooter
3. can create offense for others.
Sadly our young guns can't do any of these...we better ship JK/Podz out before they have 0 value left.

Re: we have the worst youngsters in the league
this should've been a foregone conclusion loong time ago.
like wiseman before and TJD tomorrow.
trade their asses now, 0 value left or not, just trade them and get somebody that can do at least one possibly two of those things.
this FO really botched those picks in the last few years.

After this game I would trade all vets. It would be 10 times smarter move.

Why not both?

1995 Shaquille O'Neal 11.5
2000 Shaquille O'Neal 11.5 (61.1% TS)

Worries fans and don't office prefer to trade Wiggins than jk or podz.
We need to make then useful since they won't be traded.

Steph wont be dealt and only Wiggins will return any legitimate value.. this is the roster.
But since you do appreciate stats and lineup rankings, I'm surprised you dont see any way out. We have a lineup that's been a sizeable net positive as a starting unit. We could have a backup unit of Schroder/Podz/Lindy/Moody/GP2/JK/SloMo/TJD, or some combo of it. Lots still to believe in, if the trigger is ever pulled

Podz is a sg, keep the game simple.
Kuminga isn't an iso scoring wing. He's a face up 4 that can excell in transition or working in the dunkers spot. His spot up shooting is coming around too. But you absolutely can't have him be a 30 usg point forward/scoring wing.
Tjd should be a 12th man.

The only sizeble net positive with meaningful playing time unit in last two seasons is
Green/Kuminga/Wiggs/guard/Curry
But Kerr refuses to play them this season (only 56min). Looney/Green combo didn’t work last season with Klay, it won’t work with Hield and worse version of Curry/Green.

Let’s be honest. Steph is making 40% of the cap and he just isn’t that guy night in and night out anymore.
Go ahead and blame it all on the other guys making relative peanuts.
What does he need to be successful? Another $60M player in prime? How can it fit in a cap system?

It didnt work with Klay because they forced shots to a guy who literally couldnt handle it anymore
Since we're using 4 man lineups here, Buddy + Steph/Dray/Wiggins is +28 in 160 poss this year. It's a positive with GP2, Looney, SloMo, TJD, Melton, Moody, or Waters as the 5th man. In fact there's only one person that doesnt fit with that quartet: JK
If I take out Hield and add JK to those 3, its +14 in 197 poss. A very high positive with Melton, Podz and Waters. A large negative with Hield and GP2. Slightly negative with TJD
Since the big 3 are gonna start and since Hield's been more impactful with those guys than JK, and clearly they cant both play well together (-20), give me Hield, who's less likely to do well on the bench than JK, who did well as a bench scorer earlier in the year

the fact you are making relative peanuts doesn't mean you can underperform or play like shite.
especially when you are making relative peanuts and you are seeking a huge extension now (kuminga) or tomorrow when your rookie deal will be up (podz, TJD) you should spit blood on the floor and show you deserve it.
and who said steph needs another 60M player to compete for a chip?
2 years ago with wiggins, a talent like poole (yes poole), OPJ, bjelica and a bunch of players who fit the system he delivered. it might be not the case anymore as times went by and he's now 2 years older, still last time I checked I don't see any poole, OPJ, bjelica kind of players in the current roster, just a bunch of overhyped youngsters who don't have the BB IQ nor the talent to make any sort of meaningful impact around steph.

You don’t get it… 2y ago for 37y old player is huge difference… Now our 1st option score 22pts and can do anything good in 4Q b/c is tired. Kerr system is all about Curry if he can’t play good/move a lot to create chaos, everything else’s doesn’t matter.
I could agree if Curry would score 30pts on avg and with no legs couldn’t finish ends of games. The situation is totally different. Second option won’t save this team. We need prime first option to compete and Curry would be 2nd fiddle to him. Curry choses Kobe way not Duncan and we have what we have. Ego’s are huge in this organisation from top to bottom. So don’t cry guys, we have good memmories

Re: we have the worst youngsters in the league
When you lose by the biggest margin of any team all season, you have the worst everything in the league...
Yes, it's one game...but it's the 9th loss in 11 games, the last 2 while they were well-rested. Schröder will help some but he's not going to flip them 180, they are a LONG way from being contenders. Like I keep saying, nibbling around the edges with this roster and continuing to try to make everything fit into Kerr's increasingly antiquated system, is not going to be enough. If getting to the NBA Finals isn't the goal then what the hell are we doing?

Re: we have the worst youngsters in the league
Well I advocated for tearing the team down early rather than late. Would have been a prudent move looking to the future and next 20yrs of this franchise going foward.
Still, I can understand everyone wanting to wring every last drop of essence out of an aging Steph. It's the easy answer.
But... I was one of the very few here that even questioned that ridiculous 63M extension and let me tell you, It's gonna STING!
So stupid and UNNECESSARY of the F/O extending a 37yo for that amount two years out. How about at that age, you just play your contract out. If your still playing at an extremely high level... sure, let's talk massive amounts. If not, sorry, we have a team to manage and it's probably best we think about the team going forward. Seen it so many times... old, injured superstars collecting inflated paychecks while putting their teams in purgatory for half a decade.
Literally a billionaire... or close, Steph probably makes that contract each yr alone in endorsements but let's face it, he made his own bed being greedy (grabbing even more money that he could ever need or use) with this one. How about spreading the wealth a bit, maybe strengthening the roster or even just making a little more money available for other lower payers on the team that extra money might actually make a difference to.
Anyway Steph ain't winning here and to an large extent, he has himself to blame. Zero sympathy from me.

As I wrote earlier, this organisation has so many huge egos from the top to the bottom. The smartest guy was Myers, he saw it very clearly.

I could agree if the organization, meaning lacob, hasn't gone the route of getting under the second apron.
why steph (or klay for what it matters) should've signed team-friendly deals, for the ownership to save $$ in taxes?
steph (with klay and dray and steve) basically did this. 9 effing billions.
they had the possibility and the asset to add at least another max contract player like in the past with Dlo But....But.... the second apron.
if the ownership showed its commitment to try competing no matter the $$ required, then yes, the vets with steph at the helm would've been the ones to blame for not conceding discounts (after all the money earned) to give the team a better chance to win.
