Where to from here for you guys? Randle moved on?

Hurt on the bench places Bridges in his natural position and also we get a rim protector in Precious.

Ant is a special talent. Its about time Minny hand him the keys to the team.

Jalen Bluntson wrote:Hart to the bench is kinda open for discussion. I am not calling for it after one game though. Randle single handedly killed Minnesota tonight. I don't think our lineup was the cause. It was Randle doing Randle things like he ALWAYS did here. He must have been saving it for tonight and playing more of a back seat role but, this game was more about him being a terrible person than Precious starting.

I get why people are thinking it but subs can handle any issue people have. Hart is a better player and has earned his starting gig IMO.

it's not so much an issue with who starts but thibs being overly loyal to hart and playing him 35+ mins a game and having him always close games etc. to me hart can either come off the bench or start, but should be getting closer to 25 mins unless deuce is having a bad game.

i want to see a true 5 out offense which simply doesn't exist with hart out there - despite his very good 3pt% this year. teams still ignore him and often guard him with their center or worst defender. he still hesitates to take the open catch and shoot 3s too often.

i love hart and he's a big part of the team. but i think thibs should lean more into the 5 out offense. even if it's just 20 or so mins a game. that cam-deuce-bridges-og-Kat lineup was unstoppable. swap out cam with brunson for some of it obviously.

i think someone posted the stats but we've barely played that lineup at all (brunson, deuce, bridges,og,kat) - why?? the simple answer is thibs plays hart nearly 40 mins in most games. hart brings a lot of positives to the game and has value. but i don't think he should be treated as automatically getting 35 mins while deuce gets 20-25. should be the other way around imo or at least ride the hot hand or what is working. some matchups will require more from hart where as others deuce should get more burn.

I feel for you brother. I am sure WE ALL feel your pain in more ways than one. Having to deal with JR is one thing but, this trade for you has been like almost every trade we have made in the last 20+ years before Leon got here. I can see this really getting much worse for you. They need to pivot and fix things ASAP because Ant isn't gonna wanna stay if you guys aren't in the mix every year. He doesn't seem to have the same personality that KAT does.

We are taking applications for the KAT hive though. Fill one out and we'll have HR contact you.

Word, he could have at least dapped up Brunson and Deuce. He played with those guys a lot. Especially Brunson who really made Julius take off even more.

If you continue repeating this ad nauseam until Mitch finally returns, expect to be openly mocked and laughed at. Just leave it be for the time being and let's see how it plays out, I suspect you will be pleasantly surprised.

this isn't entirely true though. not disagreeing with your point, but the knicks started the 2nd quarter with a true 5 out lineup.

it was cam, deuce, bridges, OG and towns... and it as unstoppable. that lineup played most of the 2nd quarter until brunson came in for cam and then precious for bridges.

this trade for Kat to play 5 out has never truly materialized because thibs is overly in love with josh hart.

a lot of us thought our best lineup would be with deuce in there instead of hart.

i love brunson but his defense is questionable so the 2nd unit lineup in this game was essentially true 5 out with 4 very good defenders and Kat. i hope we can see more of it even after hart comes back. to me he should be a 20-25 min a game guy off the bench.

I forgot about that stretch but in those 8 mins you mention he missed a shot in a game he only missed two from the field so he and the Knicks kind of played better with them than without them in this game.

Although, you are missing the point the Knicks pulled away in the beginning of that quarter, it wasn't the Knicks line up, it was that R***** and Ant sat for the start of it. The wolves were leading by 1 point when both left the court and were down by 14 after a technical FT when they both returned at the same time to never cut it down below a double digit deficit again.

That disrupted their momentum and they never recovered from it. As much as people will try to point at whom the Knicks had on the floor but it was more about whom the Wolves didn't have on the floor so when they came back a certain player tried to play hero ball and well, we know how that story typically ends.

I don't think it's a coincidence he's playing more aggressive without Hart in lineup. Without Josh, he doesn't just stand in the corner, and gets the ball more so he scores and passes more, and he plays better D when he's this aggressive. Tbh, we're at our best with an aggressive Mikal.

Also with Precious next to KAT, I feel like KAT plays more loose too, no pressure on him as the last line of D. Although he leads the L in rebounding, I'm sure KAT loves someone else help rebound when he can't get them.

Please bring Hart off the bench... he can wreak havoc with the 2nd unit with his own playmaking skills.

Been saying it from the start… Hart as the 6th man instead of a starter unlocks this team… his fit with the starters is clunky.

same, been clamoring for this since Precious came back, start him, bench of cam, deuce, hart,Mitch is no joke

Min better hope that the Mavs feel like they need a productive front court player the likes of R***** to compete in the improved west so will cough up something decent to get him...only to have their chemistry destroyed just in time for the playoffs.

Boys when this team is clicking its hard to see anyone better. You could really argue our 'A' game is better than ANY OTHER TEAMs A GAME!!!!

Well said. Hopefully Hart “misses” another 2 games so Thibs gets it beaten into his head as he is slow to change.
Hart is now doing so much and with such a talented group of starters, a less skilled player like Precious might fit better.

I guess I'll defend Randle a little by saying he had the most points on his team. Where was Ant? only 17 pts. KAT replacement Naz Reid with 3 pts. Finch sat his starters in the 2nd quarter while we ran up the score and they never recovered from that.

He had the most points on his team the same way a lot of empty stats guys do, they turn every possession into getting themselves the ball so they can either score or get the assist and ultimately take their teammates out of the game. He plays the game like he's an elite creator when he should never have the ball as much as he does. His team had no rhythm because of him, all those stupid jump passes he does, all the times he gets the ball only to jab step and pump fake instead of moving it.

Tonight, we saw the difference between a true grade A nuclear threat vs a bow and arrow. Yeah, the bow and arrow might kill you, but the nuke is going to level your city and make whole area unlivable. KAT just standing out there does more damage to a defense than all the "gravity" Randle supposedly has.

I'd rather have KAT much more than Randle. I'm saying when Randle left the game at the end of the first the Wolves were up 1. When he came back in they were down 15, Randle had nothing to do with taking the bench out of rhythm.

He had more points than Ant because he played hero ball and refused to pass. Didn't you see Ant standing around in the 1st quarter waiting for passes that never came?

Randle was cooking us the whole quarter. Ant is supposed to be one of the top superstars in the league and he's a guard with the ball in his hands. Does he need Randle to get him going?

Even when we won blowout games with Josh in lineup, I never genuinely liked the team's passing, it didn't feel organic, felt semi forced, and most of all NOT spontaneous.

I can totally see this game was way different, the passing felt organic, smooth, and spontaneous.
