While Myers had been interested in both, to begin with, the vote of confidence from Green sealed the decisions."

Go ahead and blame it all on the other guys making relative peanuts.

What does he need to be successful? Another $60M player in prime? How can it fit in a cap system?

He needs what every other superstar needs to be successful. An actual spread court. Literally no other contending team is playing with 2 non shooters, sometimes we play 3. Every other superstar or contending team is playing with 0 or maybe 1.

OKC 5 out with Chet or 4 out with IHart
Hou 5 out
Mav 4 out
Mem 5 out
Den 4 out (i'm not including gordon)
Bos 5 out
Cle 4 out
MIL 4 out
NYK 5 out

GSW 3 out

Look at the paint whenever we shoot in the paint. There's like 2+ guys challenging the shot with like 4 people with feet in the paint. It's damn near impossible to score. It's why we're dead last in finishing efficiency in the paint. It's why Dennis Schroeder isn't going to solve our issues. We need to be able to at least go 4 out at some point. We don't run a modern nba lineup.

Why would a GM listen to a player (who plays basketball and focuses on playing) when he employs scouts that actually scout players for a living?

Still, I can understand everyone wanting to wring every last drop of essence out of an aging Steph. It's the easy answer.

But... I was one of the very few here that even questioned that ridiculous 63M extension and let me tell you, It's gonna STING!

So stupid and UNNECESSARY of the F/O extending a 37yo for that amount two years out. How about at that age, you just play your contract out. If your still playing at an extremely high level... sure, let's talk massive amounts. If not, sorry, we have a team to manage and it's probably best we think about the team going forward. Seen it so many times... old, injured superstars collecting inflated paychecks while putting their teams in purgatory for half a decade.

Literally a billionaire... or close, Steph probably makes that contract each yr alone in endorsements but let's face it, he made his own bed being greedy (grabbing even more money that he could ever need or use) with this one. How about spreading the wealth a bit, maybe strengthening the roster or even just making a little more money available for other lower payers on the team that extra money might actually make a difference to.

Anyway Steph ain't winning here and to an large extent, he has himself to blame. Zero sympathy from me.

As I wrote earlier, this organisation has so many huge egos from the top to the bottom. The smartest guy was Myers, he saw it very clearly.

who, the guy who run away like a thief because he did not have the balls to deal with his relationships (and feelings) with the core 3?

I could agree if the organization, meaning lacob, hasn't gone the route of getting under the second apron.
why steph (or klay for what it matters) should've signed team-friendly deals, for the ownership to save $$ in taxes?

Read on Twitter

steph (with klay and dray and steve) basically did this. 9 effing billions.
they had the possibility and the asset to add at least another max contract player like in the past with Dlo But....But.... the second apron.
if the ownership showed its commitment to try competing no matter the $$ required, then yes, the vets with steph at the helm would've been the ones to blame for not conceding discounts (after all the money earned) to give the team a better chance to win.

The NBAPA **** up. They implemented a hard cap without even realizing it which will suppress contract values. Superstars will never get paid enough in this system until they can buy into ownership. It's crazy that we expect superstars to take discounts while owners are pocketing billions.

I dont care about it, but he portrays himself as high BBIQ guy. Also Green its more about TV' shows and podcast's (an analyst) than playing basketball.

So even more reason not to listen to Green on who to draft, when you actually employ someone whose job it is to analyze and figure out who to draft. Drafting goes on Bob not Green, but if you want to say Green shouldn't be a college scout or future gm I would agree with you. Hell he might agree with you which is why he's positioning himself as a tv personality and not in the front office.
