the catalyst is bridges finally getting comfortable and taking his game to the next level..

I know people hated what we gave up but the thing with Bridges is that he's the perfect guy to have next to both Brunson and Towns cause he doesn't need the ball but when he gets the ball he can score and make things happen. That combination of unselfishness but with offensive potency when called upon is tough to find, especially when he can fit anywhere on the court and with two alpha scorers.

and be an all-nba-level defender.

thanks for everything, thibs.

Mikal at 58% shooting, 43% from three, 22 ppg this month.

The crazy thing is that Josh Hart is currently shooting 59% and 40% for the season.

That type of efficiency is crazy

I just listened to the Locked on Pod for the Wolves post game.

First, they talk about how KAT was nothing but a positive energy to the franchise as a human being, IE how he stayed later than usual after shootarounds to take a picture or sign an autograph for every person waiting. They said yes he has issues that make you want to scream, like the goofy passes or dumb fouls he picks up. But the overall was such a net positive as a player and for the franchise.

Then they compared that to Randle's play on the court, which they say was sucking the soul out of the arena. They highlighted times he'd force shots then not get back on D, or when he'd have a bad turnover, or when he'd pass the ball too late to a wide open teammate, if he'd even pass it at all. Then they said how much more of this season do the Wolves have to let slip away before they hit the trade button.

Absolutely brutal. Here's the Apple link https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/karl-anthony-towns-dominates-the-minnesota/id1153019457?i=1000681137732

I've always been a Randle supporter even before he was a Knick (I felt him next to KP would be awesome) and still am, but it's hard to argue with these flaws they mentioned when we saw it first hand here too. I thought for sure he was going to come out more as 20-21 Randle, a guy who IMO should have gotten some all defensive votes and who really was letting the game come to him. IDK what's going to happen. It's a long season, maybe he figures it out that it's time to be Drandle not Dubious Handles

The low points got so much media focus so most would not know Mikal is killing it. This is the problem with legacy media. They suck at their job b/c they know negativity on any topic generates views

After last nights performance we crept up to 15th in DEF rating. We are 2nd in OFF rating.

We are now 5th in the league in NET rating.

Donte really loved being a Knick and playing with his guys. Unfortunately the trade made a lot more basketball sense for both parties with him in it instead of Mitch.

that was the part that hurt for any of us in the trade but it had to be done....this is why I dont question the Don Cap...

Randle is killing his chances at a longterm contract.

Wizards and Hornets may be a fit for him. That's pretty much it.

He might actually opt in to his player option next season because I don't know what other team is dying to sign him to a deal.

Morning thoughts

1. The Hawks game might have been a blessing because the defensive effort and attention to detail has really improved. It might have been what was needed to get this teams attention.

2. Momentum changed at the end of the 1st quarter. Wolves were playing well in the 1st and we could've been down 6 but Deuce hit a 3 and OG made a layup to cut it to 2 and we just bend them over and spanked them in the 2nd outscoring them 41-18.

3. You can tell it wasn't "just another game" for Ju. He really wanted this one and he came out looking to score 50 and was well on his way until Thibs unleashed OG on him. Nothing but love for Ju though! I don't take any offense to him not hugging it up with is ex-teammates after the game. We had Ju here for 5 years and know how he is.

4. Breaks my heart to see what has happened to Donte. He just doesn't look like the same dude over there. When is he a FA?

5. Give KAT his catnip and whatever he wants! 32 & 20 with 6 assists against your former team? That **** isn't easy! So much emotion and kudos to the Wolves for the video tribute and the fans for the standing ovation. Hope we do the same when Randle and Donte return next month.

6. Bridges has been on fire the last few games and looks to be over that slump and slow start. He's hitting the 3s and playing much better defense.

7. Hope everything is okay with Hart. It's not like to miss games and they called it "personal reasons" so fingers crossed all is alright with him and his family.

8. RIP Harry Robinson. Legendary statistician passed away this week at the age of 82.

So you are telling me the Knicks defense has gotten better as the season has progressed? Even this month they are a top 5 rated defense? It's almost as if the team is getting better as the team gets better cohesion and chemistry like the pattern of Thib's Knicks teams before.

I was told that it only happened because of a mid season trade, so who did the Knicks trade for when I wasn't looking? Oh wait...they got Suns MB, nice mid season trade Leon because broken jumper Bridges wasn't it. Not to mention shipping out overrated soft kitty KAT for MVP level tiger KAT, sweet deal.

Now can you do something about bumass Brunson? What can you get for him?...maybe Brunson burner.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

Lol. Mitch will probably make a big difference too since he was getting DPOY mentions last year and looked like an absolute stud in our D. We have enough shooting to compensate for him being out there now too.

For sure. Check my responses after the trade. I was rationally pleasantly surprised that we went that route. But that dude played harder and better than he had any business playing for us. On that level it was a really tough loss.
