This was one of my biggest fear with ant coming out of the draft. I compared him to JR Smith. He had these tendencies of going into chuck mode and stop attacking. Dudes pulling up from 3 like 12 times a game and it’s not a good idea. I’m sure not having Kat at the 4 hurts but it was already trending down before the trade.

This is exactly why we can’t start Mitch next to KAT. This offense relies on spacing.

There has to be trade for when/if Mitch gets healthy. Mitch is gonna need his 20ish minutes and precious needs like 15. The only way that can happen is if you’re planning them with Kat for 10 each. i def dont want most of kats minutes being played with another big. Especially when he's playing the best basketball he's ever played.

We need a healthy team in May and June. Having the depth to get there is as important, if not more. We need Thibs to have all of the vet depth he can get his hands on.

I NEVER gave up on my Philly born and raised boy and wanted my Sixers to trade for him, giving up our top picks along with McCain if possible. Knicks fans just don't get it as they valued future picks like gold trashing while Mikal game after game.

Plenty of ways to spread the minutes....
KAT (24)/ Mitch (20)/ Precious (4)
OG(20)/Precious(18)/KAT (10)
Bridges (23)/ OG (13)/ Hart (12)
Hart(16)/ Bridges(10) / McBride (22)
Brunson (33)/ Payne (15)

I know. We could also have Shamet/Warren on the roster too. We don't need to make trades IMO. We need the HC to not play dudes 40+mpg for 82 games. We need depth that Thibs will actually play. Force his hand so that we don't have a repeat of last season. Load the roster up with vets because he's never gonna trust the rookies we have.

Brunson/Payne
Mikal/Deuce
Hart/Shamet/Warren
OG/Precious/Warren
KAT/Mitch/Sims

That's 12 dudes Thibs would actually play. If we have some injury issues he will STILL have some vet depth so he doesn't go to shorter rotations like he always does. I added Sms because we know Thibs will play him too. The rookies are never seeing the court again at that point unless we are blowing teams out. We may make a trade at the deadline but, it will have to be for someone Thibs will actually play to keep the depth. I don't care who it is or what position they play. Just get him the depth and roll.

To be clear, I am not saying he's going to go 10-12 deep in games. If/when everyone is back healthy we should be fine.

I feel so bad for Julius… traded for KAT and then KAT turns into a superhero lol. Minnesota KAT was lightweight corny, but NYC KAT is a monster. This game felt like Julius versus KAT but really we’re a different team this year with Mikal in the mix.

Still not as geeked as some with the Jekell and Hyde wins and losses, but we’re not whole yet, and Thibs makes good in season adjustments, so our ceiling feels higher with this team.

Minnesota has bigger problems than Julius; they don’t have a point guard. Conley looks done, which is why it seemed to make sense when they traded for the Dillingham pick. But Ant’s comments after the game about their offense being just him and Julius shooting is an indictment on their coach. With the NBA Cup schedule, Stan Van Gundy mentioned they had time to practice and with on their two and three-man games and offensive sets. Doesn’t look like it’s helped yet. They need a real point guard asap.

I don't think Randle is salty simply because he got traded.... Randle is salty because Leon didn't give him the bag. $$$$

Now his money is uncertain and he isn't putting up crazy stats this year. Numbers down across the board, aside from a slight uptick in efficiency.

Julius might need to pick up that extension. Don’t think he gets $30M per on the open market. Maybe I’m wrong, but his attitude is more damaging than his play

I don’t wanna say I told you so but some of you still have excuses for Randle. Move on….hes not the greatest player or person. It’s actually true lol. Just because he was a Knicks doesn’t change that. It was said while he was here and got ignored.

Compared to his banishment in Minny? I think he'd accept a ballboy role at this point to come back!

I kid but....

DDV is a SUPER emotional player. He is one that plays off the energy of that emotion. He was super charged up playing with his buddies and in NY. He would come back here in a second.

The most important thing at hand right now though is to get Mitch back. We showed we can beat teams without a 3 ball but the ones that have it still drive us nuts. Maybe thats still part of the gelling process of the new system but....when Mitch comes back it will allow our perimeter defenders to sag in the paint so much less since we would have a DPOY level player who knows Thibs system backwards and forwards policing the paint again.
