I think a Carter/Huerter for DFS/Sharpe deal is much simpler/cleaner
I think that’s an overpay on the Kings side. DFS is worth a few 2nds and Sharpe is neutral at best. I wouldn’t give up a lottery pick for that type of package.
Sharpe is probably worth a second or 2.
Huertrr is negative matching.
Carter is no longer worth a lotto pick (esp in a weak draft) after not playing a single game
I guess you and I think of Carter’s value differently.
He was taken 13th while injured. How much higher would he have gone if he was fully healthy at the time of the draft? The Blazers have the luxury of trading for a player that likely would have gone higher than 13 without needing to let him rehab and sit on the bench.
I typically think players hold more value when they are not injured (or closer to coming back from an injury) vs. when they are injured. But maybe that’s just me?
