Alright. I preferred Santana but I can deal with this. I’m gonna be super pissed if we cheap out next off-season though

It's gonna be another bloodbath of a bidding war.

Goldy and Arenado coming to the Yankees will be the biggest thing since Wade and Bosh going to the Heat.

You think they will still land Arenado?

Arenado will go full KP and demand a trade.

I just get Wash Donaldson vibes when I think about Goldschmidt. As I recall correctly, Donaldson also had a solid season before he arrived to the Bronx.

Did Rickey Henderson pass away?

I really hope not!

I really can’t blame the Yankees for this move…some effups can’t be fixed in a single offseason and Alonso is going to be a mistake.

Truth is, we probably should have Bryce Harper at 1B right now.

I think Goldschmidt's the better bet. 1 1/2 years younger and he was very good much more recently than Santana who hasn't hit like a middle of the order guy since 2019. Santana does switch hit so he'd have the friendly right field porch, but I still think Goldschmidt is the better move. A good low risk play for a team that's going to go after Vlad next year.

I was down with Goldie on the Mets for that reason though I don't know if Cohen will sign another big contract next year. 1 year 12.5 is a pretty good gamble vs overpaying for Bregman or Alonso.

Wonder what he passed of. He seemed like a guy that took very good care of his health.

If this was 2020 it would be the best offseason ever (assuming we get Arenado too)

Every bat we have brought in is post 30 and showing negative trends in their hitting.

Now I dont hate it as only one is REALLY old (in Goldy) but guys nowadays often decline post 32 years old .

I don't hate it....and Ill be somewhat cautiously optimistic about it..... but last years offense with Soto and a stroking Gleyber (and a younger healthy stanton compared to being a year older this year) is still arguably better.

On the other hand the optimist in me says each guy will be rejuvenated playing for the Yanks and have an uptick in their performance over their previous year.

Last year's offense was Soto/Judge with some help from an up and down Torres/Wells. Stanton was MIA until the playoffs. Torres was coming alive late in the season. Wells was good until he wasn't. Jazz was good until he wasn't. It was streaky hitting around Soto/Judge from what I remember. Great until June. Terrible until end of July. Picked it back up later in the season.

We got nothing from Verdugo/Rizzo/DJ at all. Wells fell off a cliff. Volpe was struggling.

We just need average levels of production up and down the lineup and we should be fine. I don't know how Goldy and Belli are gonna perform here but, they both have been amazing at some point in their careers. Hoping we aren't too far removed from those moments. We need the kids to step up and figure out who is playing 3B.

I really missed feeling like this about the Yankees. I had grown complacent the last few years but, the WS appearance and this board has woken up the beast. We can't waste Judge without getting at least one WS win out of him before he starts to make us regret that contract!

[Rubén Sierra] I understand most Yankee fans were hoping for Walker, but I like one year of Paul Goldschmidt at 1B. Yankees can’t block the 1B position if they want to go after Vladdy next offseason!
