Yes, I want more creation opportunities, so that when the playoffs roll around, he has reps.

And the minutes need to come down, he's at 39.5mpg for them month, so similar production in less minutes is what I want.

Treating mikal like green arrow treats Brunson

Nah, Mikal doesn't need to worry about me using chloroform to knock him out and throw him in my trunk the way Jalen does with Greenie.

Bojan is an expiring contract that’s what made him a good trade chip. We wouldn’t have given up picks just to dump him when he’s an expiring contract. Those picks really were all for Bridges. Sure maybe we could have given young players and maybe not have to send as many picks but we didn’t have that to give or didn’t want to do it if you consider Deuce worth a pick. Or maybe the nets really coveted the picks.

I think we probably could have kept our 2025 and the Milwaukie pick if we included Deuce. The close in ones, in any event. They want the long range bombs.

I'm glad we didn't include Deuce.

The defense looked great tonight. They hit plenty of tough shots yet still didn’t crack 100. And we didn’t leave them wide open many times at all

Hold up Harris, you're good with the minutes? I thought you backed the boys in blue, don't tell me you're a rat crossing the thin blue minutes line.

I actually think the move would be to try and get Richards with Precious + 2nd and then try and move Mitch for a wing. I've been aggregating trades, but we could just do 2 individual trades to get what we need. BUT, when I looked at guys whose salary matches Mitch, it was Jordan Clarkson...who is a CAA client and someone I don't actually want.

Yeah, i don't want Clarkson either. And tbh I'm not sold on shamet coming off a terrible injury. I do however trust leon in addressing the teams needs. He is savvy and had to see the issue. He has been really good in the past at making solid in season moves.

We needed his salary and we sent other garbage in that trade, We also had to beat other offers. Cross town rivals. Etc. There is price you pay and there is the overpay to seal the deal. Mikal wouldn't have cost 5 picks of we had talent to send out. That's the point. We didn't, so he cost more. Two of those picks we got from other trades too. So the package seems bigger than it really is when you consider all the factors involved. He's worth it... almost.

Me too, our depth is painfully thin and he’s a cheap contract that’s can fill the role, and a good fit for the team and thibs. We need him more than saving the pick

I was thinking about this earlier in the “is he worth it” question. Ultimately that really depends more on what the team does than what he does individually if you view him as a piece that we were willing to overpay for to be the final piece that puts us over the top. It was an all in move and now, hopefully, we need to win a championship. People were saying the Bucks and then Boston overpaid for Jrue. Well they both won championships so I doubt they feel that way. Same story here. It’s worth it if we win. He’s had a great month of December though and hopefully the trend keeps going positive

Now that I'm less pissed off about the reffing in this one - so the thing about JB that's been off this year but I couldn't quite put a finger on yet is we hadn't seen him play angry. He's been focusing on onboarding KAT and Mikal and finding his spots with the new group but we haven't quite seen him say "**** you, this game is mine" yet.

So... he can still do that. And I think between the BS the refs were pulling with KAT and our lackluster performance this was a good game for him to do it. Otherwise, I'm fine with him saving most of that mojo for the playoffs.

Camara from PDX is on my wish list.

He has the tools to make Thibbs find him minutes with his defense

And we need rest for our wings. It’ll only help out OG, Mikal and Josh

The Knicks were 5-6 at one point and since then they have been 13-4

Yeah, I was just pointing out that package required to get Murray at the deadline last year and then flipping him in a package for Mikal would have probably been cheaper than package for Bogey and then adding a ton of picks to him for Mikal since Murray's value>>>>>>>>Bogey's this off-season. Also this team might have looked pretty good just with just the package ATL got from NO even if the Knicks didn't trade for Mikal.

I wouldn't be mad if we had Daniels next to Brunson and Nance eating up backup minutes at the 5 along with 5-7 more picks and a swap right now and I really like Mikal. Anyway, I derailed the thread long enough.

nah nah...the minutes need to come down...but thats on thibs, nothing Mikal can do about that. Asking more from MIkal from what he is putting up in Dec is a bit cray cray.

Leading the entire NBA in +/-, avg like 22 pts on 57 from the field and 44 from 3. And he's playing some lock down defense right now.

Crazy that we have the second best offensive in the league but can’t score at all when Brunson isn’t on the floor. Kat has been playing at an mvp level this year and we can’t score without Brunson on the floor. The dude is so important to everything we do on the court that I can’t praise the guy enough. He’s just incredibly good.

Yep definitely. Like vs Phoenix last year.

Now that he’s done the hard work i.e. making sure his team mates are comfortable, it should become easier for him to go off like tonight. The lane is his oyster
