RIP to the GOAT leadoff man. Always loved how Rickey talks about himself as a third person. "It's Rickey time!!!"

The only rumor I can find is Arenado at third. Slight mention of Bregman because he's the top player available but, all the smoke I have seen is Arenado because we signed his BFF to play 1B. Now it's a matter of reaching a trade because they turned down Strohman already.

Best thing about this deal:
1. No Alonso
2. No Santander

The Yankees better not eff this up and deliver next year. They tried to pull this financial austerity crap once and they're still paying for it now.

They’re always planning for the following season’s free agents, until they pull themselves out of the running.

Vlad Jr ain’t coming here.

I feel like we could of gotten more for Trevino. I figured he was on the trade block and I said it earlier in this thread. His offense sucked but what really made him expandable was his throwing arm. After he hurt his wrist he got exposed badly especially in that one red sox game where they stole 6 bases in one game. After that he couldn't throw anybody out and everybody ran on him. He's a great framer and works well with pitchers but I think we could of got more because there aren't that many good catchers around the league. Anyway, I guess Matt bLake can work his magic with the reliever he seems to have good stuff.

Goldy is an ok signing I guess. I would rather took a chance on Santander at 1st tbh. I'm over with trying to rejuvenate these old guys but either way he's an upgrade over what we had last year, I can't complain for a 1 year deal. If he gives us similar numbers to last year at 22 HRs and 65 RBIs than that's a win.

I really hope we don't get Arenado, unless St Louis eats like 80% of the rest of his contract. we need to go away from getting these old guys and get more young and springy. I hope we still go after Santander but we should really look into another 1 year deal for Ha Seong Kim who is a great defender and has good speed. He should be cheap as well and give him a prove it deal like Goldy. We still gotta get rid of Stroman and his contract so I assume that's next on the list.

Everything about how great Ricky was has been said. He’s a legend and one of a kind. But I just wanted to add that he was basically moneyball baseball before it was moneyball baseball. The baseball we see today is all Ricky, but Ricky was better because he turned walks into doubles.

I think they’re more interested in Murakami coming over from Japan. Guy is a few seasons removed from hitting 56 homers (been averaging 35 in the two seasons since) and he’s an elite defensive first baseman (plays a lot of third as well, but he’s a worse defender there). Would be nice if we got Sasaki this year and him next. Murakami will be 25 next year so it will be a bidding war to nab him.

Arenado is more than a rumor it seems. This is a legit shot at happening. He has a no move clause and now wants to play only for us

St Louis wants to shed as much of his salary as possible.

Its a posturing game at this point. At the moment, St Louis doesnt want to take on Stromans full salary.

Yes, and if the Yanks don’t pull through next off-season, they deserve all the shyt they’re going to get.

Honestly, Goldschmidt might put together another MVP season and then we’ll sign him to a 10 year extension and he’ll decline one year after and become an excuse that Hal uses to say that the payroll is not sustainable. That’s usually what happens when we try to be cheap.

Can’t be forced to sign star free agents if you spend all your money on crap like Hicks and Stroman and crappy alternatives!

Freakin hilarious!!

20) In June 1999, when Henderson was playing with the Mets, he saw reporters running around the clubhouse before a game. He asked a teammate what was going on and he was told that Tom Robson, the team’s hitting coach, had just been fired. Henderson said, “Who’s he?”

Interesting…Max Fried’s contract is backloaded. The first 2 years, he’s getting paid under 15 mill I think.

Looks like Gleybor is gone. I would have taken him on a 1 year contract over the Yankees being cheap.

I really hope we're not done, and that this is just them waiting on Sasaki.
