Team Villain went out sadder than sad, I always said true villains don't need to tell you they're villainous. The rim protection stuff was always going to shake out like this, KAT was bad at the start of the season while getting reacclimated to playing C, but there was nowhere to go but up from where he was at. The last 10 games he's at 59.4% DFG, and -3.6 diff, which means he's holding guys below their expected FG%. I don't know why you'd make that the backbone of your slander campaign of a player, especially when the numbers were so bad they could only improve.
And just for reference, IHart is at 60.6% DFG for the season.

That's great. If KAT can be the C in a strong defense it opens up a lot of options.

It does, the one thing I will say with how the Cavs play, they are the team I'd go with two C's against. That would neutralize some of their strengths, which is defensive rebounding which gets them out in transition. You can't run if the other team is pounding you on the glass and forcing you to gang rebound. They play at a fast pace, if you hammer them on the boards their pace slows and they'll be the same old team they were before.

No egos. Just hoops.
I was worried when typing that cause a contending team needs someone who will take over. And this game is a perfect example of how Brunson can do that. As Cap pointed out - Brunson has that fck you gear were not losing. Was nice to see it last night.
Brunson is still the 1A of this team. But he's humble and smart enough to know when he needs to make others better and when he needs to go Super Brunson mode and carry the team to a W.
The window for this team is wide open with Brunson and KAT as the foundation.

I just don't get bailing on the best team weve seen in a min. Though I wouldn't be surprised if we some mote traffic when/if thibs run some players into the ground and we have a tough stretch.
Anyways, loving seeing the def numbers get better. That's going to be key for us to truly contend.

It's nice to be able to match up with teams. But can't we just get buckets with our normal 5 which would stop em from running. I dont want to count on Mitch for sht. Im not a hater like some but he is DONE. I want to move him for a back up wing so we can hopefully get to the postseason healthy.

Embiid has had 2x the number of injuries and is 5 years older. And isnt quite cooked. Mitch still has some tread.

Re: PG: KNICKS vs Pelicans: Cap'n Carried Us!!!
The key to this is Brunson, KAT and MB need to all blend and keep improving together little by little. That’s the main task. Do basic stuff they all expect to do until it’s all simplified and instinct. And OG needs to come back from being a zero on O.

Embiid is washed
He has played 7 games this year. There is no way that team is going to build any sort of chemistry. And even if they sneak into the playoffs they're not going to count on him in a 7 game series.
As for Mitch a 7' with consistent leg injuries is a problem. Plus, it more important that our wings are healthy come postseason than we upgrade our back up C.
Playing mitch with kat hurts our offense more than it helps our defense. And that's even if he is available for any amount of time. He looked labored even before he went down last year. He is washed just like embiid.

Re: PG: KNICKS vs Pelicans: Cap'n Carried Us!!!
I'm not very thrilled with the spacing when Josh is in SL
He occupies Mikal's attacking spots... strictly offensively Josh and Mikal do not necessarily complement each other although they're both very unselfish.
Josh has been great, but imo we're A LOT better as a team when Mikal, not Josh, is the playmaker other than JB.
We're lucky it's the 5 win Pelicans because in 3rd q they must have realized they wanted Flagg more than the W, but against title contenders we'd fight from down in a hole to get back into the game every time when not 1 of JB or KAT is on fire, it's not sustainable.
Bring Josh off the bench, he can boost our bench production and he'll play starter 30+ mins anyway and end up playing with starters too.
Start Precious at 4, we get more size, we get more paint protection, and don't necessarily lose rebounding and scoring with Josh to the bench.
I've been saying although KAT has been a beast as a L leading rebounder, imo he doesn't necessarily love being the lone presence in the paint, and esp doesn't love being the last line of defense. He loves some help in rebounding to ease his load... and esp loves another big to help him defensively in the paint.
Currently the spacing and passing with Josh as a starter are imo inorganic, clunky, and not very spontaneous. Do this move (bench Josh and start Precious), the spacing and ball movement will be organic, synergistic and SPONATENOUS. We need it !!!
I think we're better off as a team with an aggressive Mikal doing 25pts, 8 assists every game he'll be a demon defensively when he gets going offensively... we need to set the tone at the start of the game.
Also, out of everyone on roster Josh is probably the guy who'd complain the least with a bench "demotion"... I bet he'd still get 10+rpg, I remember he got 19 rebounds off the bench against us when he was still with Portland. In fact, at beginning of this season as we were losing he even publicly suggested to bench himself.
Of course, our "brilliant bball mind" coach would not see this.... or would SEE it and still not do anything about it
