Michael Porter Jr. Sits Fourth Quarter, Overtime Of Nuggets' Win Over Pelicans

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Dec 23, 2024 12:26 pm

Michael Porter Jr. did not play in the fourth quarter or overtime of the Denver Nuggets' win over the New Orleans Pelicans. Porter finished the game with eight points, four rebounds and two blocks amid questions about his effort.

Porter emerged in trade rumors this week with the Nuggets looking to upgrade their offense. The Nuggets and Porter also reportedly discussed a contract extension earlier in the year. Porter is represented by Mark Bartelstein and cannot become a free agent until 2027.

This season, Porter is averaging 18.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 35.1 minutes over 25 games.

Malone just stayed with the lineup that got them back in the game. Wouldn't read too much into it.

MPJ is a #3 at best, being paid like a prime #2.

Man I’d let everybody stay put and ride it out. They’ve done it already. All that size is a large part of their identity. Guarantee the Lakers start beating them if they get Lavine

Is this dude like Jamal and only get up to play against the Lakers? Swear he plays like he's KD anytime he faces them.

Jokic Murray MPJ he is the third they paid him a fun max which is much lower than the max jokic and Murray are on and he was 6 foot 10 shooting 45% from 3.. Was not a tough call.. the fact is the nuggets got rid of all there other depth players..

At the time it was a show of good faith, but he never really earned that contract, especially given the injuries. If Denver was smart, they'd ship out Murray for Lavine on the idea of creating a "youth movement" in Chicago. Oddly enough, Giddey's a good fit with him as Jamal understands how to get off the ball and cut. They could run guard-guard PnR all day together.
