Moe was having his best season of his career and top 3 for 6 man of the year.

Harris
Caleb
Jett
Corey
KCP

All seem more outside the spiritual bond of the players that have been here. Fultz was kept until he was so far gone because he was apart of the collective.

Moe’s performance was up. We are winning games right now only because of the collective spirit.

Moving Moe by trade or not picking up his option seems so foreign to what this team is about.
Not picking up his option would be after the season. Fultz was a part of the circle, too. Then he had an acl injury and wasn't good anymore.

Fultz was broken on more levels than get an ACL. And we kept and I believe even extended Fultz after his ACL. Why wouldn’t we do that for Moe?
We extended Fultz before his ACL. Fultz got no more NBA contracts post ACL.

If Moe came back next season, it might be for $3m or something like that.

He isn't going to just come back and be in the rotation. He could be the 3rd center, depending on who else we sign.

I would sign him for an affordable team friendly multi year level contract, just like Jonathan Isaac (front loaded contract).

The difference is that every dollar we sign him for is going to be over the tax threshold next season.

Yes, our salaries are projected at $199m, and the tax threshold is projected to be $187m. Just change it to 25-26 to see the projection. Edit: they project the first apron to be $195m, and we'll be at $199m.

Gary 7.5 million will come off.

Resign Moe to a Multi year at 7.5 mill.

That would pretty much get there.

Gary would be more valuable then Moe next season. Moe could be out until 2026, and we're not even sure if he can be in the rotation when he comes back. Plus, we're going to sign or trade for another big., soon. He'll likely be on the roster next season.

We can always trade bigger contracts like WCJ and KCP in the summer to afford a potential Mo Wagner in the years to come

Question...Is it permissible to trade Moe to a team that doesn't really want him (in a rebuild) and have them preemptively turn down his Team Option and even buy him out for even more savings off of their payroll. Moe would, hypothetically, never even leave ORL, could do his rehab here (on Magic's dime, in Magic's facility). This summer, ORL could sign Moe to a multi-year deal, ostensibly for a bit less than the present $11m...say $9m x 3 years.

That seems like a win-win-win. Alternatively, injury or not, Moe could become a cap casualty as the rookie extensions kick in for our Big 3 and our hibernating FO starts seriously exploring building a contending roster. We all love Moe and he's definitely a role-playing contributor for ORL...but let's keep his contributions in perspective and his cost, particularly if he's not playing, and ORL is entering a serious transition towards contending. Also, the fact that he's Franz' brother should never enter into a conversation among grown-ups. All things being equal, it's nice to pay everybody and keep the fam together, but this is a BIG multi-billion dollar enterprise that must not be subjugated to those kind of concerns.

Horrible. Mo was having such a good season. Hopefully, he has a good recovery and back next season.

Now, they might use their 3rd Two-Way to sign a big man.
