Lakers get Kessler/Richards Utah/Hornets trades

Post#1 » by SlimShady83 » Thu Dec 26, 2024 5:27 am

I'm dinking just had good game day on X-mass/boxing day for us Aussies ... Merry X-mass to all, feel free to block If need

I've stated this many times already. Just helping spread the words and I'm all In for Lakers.

Trade 1:
Lakers Out: DLO/JHS 2 yes 2 FRP's for Kessler/Sexton
Lakers In: Kessler/Sexton

Why for Utah?: Utah Is rebuilding and want young and/or expiring contracts ... DLO expiring and JHS Is 21 with 3/4 years contract and on the cheap - 3 .4. 6 $mil each year

Why for Lakers?: After current game (X-mass day) Lakers vs GSW It's clear they need a big, incase of AD Injury and AD Rest this Is AD's team whether others need to admit It or not.

Honestly looking at future mock drafts that Lakers could get I don't see it worth It - just trade the pics

....

Trade 2:

Hornets/Lakers trade

Hayes + 2 SRP's for Nick Richards

Why for Hornets?: ... Hayes is a heart/energy/hustle player could provide useful and Hornets looking to move on from Richards at least from what I'm hearing.

Why for Lakers huge upgrade from Koloko/Hayes and Richards looking for a new team Hornets get their 2 srp's for Richards and can move on - seems to be a mix bag from Richards from fans

That's my pipe dream per see current signature <> Sexton just an added bonus, but If can get Kessler with out It I'm all for It... You can still trade; Dlo/Rui/Cam for like Lavine/Ingram.

Lakers need backup bigs other then Koloko/Wood/Hayes - who're not cutting it?

I still have high hopes for Vando, his due to return Jan-Feb I believe.

Kessler isn't worth it for us if that is the asking price

Idk if Sexton is even better than Dlo

I think he is slightly better, but he is a horrible defender from all the metrics

If this was the deal, I am unprotecting 2027 and giving up 1 1st with some protections

Dlo and Hayes works salary wise

But depending on the other deals, maybe we ask Utah to take back Vando and or Vincent

The issue is that Sexton likely wont close games or not many games with Reaves in the playoffs

And same for Kessler

So we are using most of our assets and are possibly getting 2 guys who cant close games for us....

I am not 100% out on this deal either, but price needs to be what I described and we are somehow getting a 3 and d wing back in another deal

Maybe Brooks or Wiggins if they get moved in a Jimmy deal

Thus the term: "Spending like a drunken sailor". That's enough day-drinking for you, Charlie Brown! For the 2nd deal, getting out of the 2nd year of Richards while furthering the tank already has value for Charlotte. I'd think 1 2nd would be adequate compensation, and they'd also have to take Reddish (also expiring) to make the numbers work, which I assume isn't a big problem either?

The first deal I don't see enough returning value to be giving up JHS and 2 unprotected 1sts, myself. Was never a huge Sexton fan. I could see unprotecting the pick Utah ALREADY has, and adding 1 PROTECTED 1st (Top 8/Top 5/#1 protected), but thats about it.

I think someone drinking more then me today lol. All good I love it.

Both the trades I suggest are coming from both either google or YouTube not from me, these are just trade rumors that I like the best coming from who came up with them.

And asking price for Richards was 2 srps and they get centre in return and 2 srps.

Sexton not much better then DLo but is younger plays defense better then DLo and on 3 years left of contract.

Both trades work on spotrac trading platform

I just done the trades on the ESPN trade checker, like I always have. I'm not sure if other trade checkers are better or not. As far as rumours you see on Google, I see some SHOCKING ones, to the point I wonders how those guys still have jobs!

Regarding the trades themselves, I'm sure Charlotte would prefer 2 picks to 1. But they ARE getting a year off Richards' deal who, at 27 and injured, isn't really a neccessary piece for what they're building (not that Hayes is either, but he IS at least expiring, and so a SLIGHT polish could be applied to the turd, so to speak...). I don't see saving a second as absolutely vital for the Lakers, but "better a dollar in my pocket than someone else's", as the saying goes. If you COULD save a 2nd, that could also be used in another deal down the track too.

As for the Utah deal, like I said, I'm just not a big Sexton guy. The value added would be for Walker in any trade I would make, not for Sexton. And is Walker worth 2 unprotected picks and mid first rounder from just a year ago? Like the other guy said, "not if he doesn't close in the playoffs." And if he DOES close, then you've got Lebron chasing around small forwards, which with his mileage is clearly sub-optimal. So the question then becomes, "Do I close with Kessler, or Lebron in the playoffs?" And at THAT point, is it even a question?
